Fort Bragg, California, is gearing up to welcome music lovers to its inaugural Blues Festival, set for May 2-4, 2025. This exciting three-day event is poised to celebrate the soulful rhythms of blues music and boost local tourism during the shoulder season.
The debut of the Fort Bragg Blues Festival coincides with the popular First Fridays, allowing attendees to enjoy not only the festival but also the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Fort Bragg where shops and galleries will stay open late, filled with visitors and locals alike.
City Manager Isaac Whippy expressed enthusiasm about the festival, stating, "We’re thrilled to introduce the Fort Bragg Blues Festival. This event will showcase the unique charm of our city, attract visitors, and boost our local economy during the shoulder season. We believe it has the potential to become a signature event for Fort Bragg, drawing music lovers and fostering community spirit for years to come." The festival aims to position itself as a key driver of economic activity, providing opportunities for local businesses.
The festival is set to feature an impressive lineup of blues artists, including the Soul Circus Band, J.C. Smith Band, Brad Wilson and the Rhythm Drivers, Bella Raynes and Friends, and a tribute performance by Mark Hummel along with Steve Freund. Music enthusiasts will also be treated to special performances by Blue Luke and Big Mo and the Full Moon Band.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the VIP Late-Night Event at The Weller House, featuring childhood friends “Big Mo” (Maurice Huffman) and Volker Strifler. This intimate acoustic event, with limited seating, promises to be truly special for attendees.
For those who enjoy leisure activities, Fort Bragg offers more than just the festival atmosphere. The city, located along California’s rugged coastline, provides breathtaking views and numerous activities. Visitors can explore tide pools, engage with the local culinary scene, or relax at one of the nearby breweries, like North Coast Brewery or Tall Guy Brewery, all within walking distance of the festival venue.
Tickets for the Fort Bragg Blues Festival will go on sale on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. An early bird special for All-Access Passes, which will grant access to all shows except for the intimate VIP event, will be available at $200 from February 14 to March 8. After March 8, the price increases to $240. Individual event tickets will also be available for purchase, ranging between $35 and $85.
At the same time, the Pasco Blues Festival will be taking place on March 8, 2025, at Land O’ Lakes Heritage Park, Fla.
