Florida Crime Spree: Pizza Driver Arrested After Stabbing Pregnant Woman

A delivery driver faces attempted murder charges after violent altercation over tipping dispute and another man is arrested for stealing a car.

A pizza delivery driver from Kissimmee, Florida, has been arrested and charged following a violent attack on a pregnant woman, marking one of the most shocking crime events reported this week.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo faced multiple charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, home invasion, and aggravated assault. This arrest came just after the brutal incident unfolded on Monday evening during what was supposed to be a celebratory occasion for the victim's family.

Reports indicate the victim was staying at a local motel with her boyfriend and their five-year-old daughter to celebrate the boyfriend’s birthday. Late at night, the family ordered food from Marco’s Pizza, totaling $33.10. When the delivery arrived, the victim attempted to pay with a $50 bill, which prompted some tension over change. Alvelo allegedly informed the victim, "they don’t provide change,” leading to the victim asking for her money back.

After handing over the requested amount and giving Alvelo only a $2 tip, Alvelo reportedly reacted negatively, rolling her eyes before leaving. Hours later, after the victim’s boyfriend and daughter were asleep, Alvelo reappeared, this time with another unidentified male suspect who was armed with a gun.

The armed man forced his way inside, pointing the firearm at the family. He locked the boyfriend in the bathroom, destroying his cellphone, and then, witness reports state, Alvelo began to attack the victim with a knife. The pregnant woman was assaulted mercilessly, receiving at least 14 stab wounds. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, including a punctured lung, and was informed there of her pregnancy.

Currently, she is reported to be stable. Meanwhile, Alvelo remains detained without bond as authorities continue to search for the male suspect linked to the crime. The local franchise owner of Marco’s Pizza expressed their condolences and stated they are cooperating with the authorities: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident. The safety and well-being of customers and team members are always our top priority, and we are taking this incident very seriously.”

This dark narrative doesn't stop there. A second crime incident came to light shortly after. Edgewater Police reported the arrest of Kevin Campana, 31, for his 35th run-in with law enforcement just before the Christmas holiday. Campana, without shoes, was caught breaking and entering at a local auto repair shop, from which he stole a vehicle. The culmination of this theft led to him fleeing from officers, resulting in a dramatic high-speed police chase.

Captured on body camera footage, the pursuit ended when Campana crashed head-on with a police vehicle. His charges include burglary, grand theft, driving with a revoked license, and willfully attempting to elude law enforcement. This latest encounter with the law adds to Campana’s extensive criminal history of 34 previous arrests, including serious offenses ranging from burglary to possession of illegal substances.

Campana’s criminal career began with his first arrest as an 18-year-old on burglary charges. Since then, he has faced numerous legal troubles almost every year, showcasing the troubling pattern of repeat offenders within Florida’s justice system. His longest stint behind bars lasted over nine months due to probation violations.

According to Volusia County inmate records, he was out on bond from a previous arrest just days prior to the most recent incident, raising concerns about the judicial system's effectiveness at rehabilitating habitual offenders.

Both cases have reignited discussions about crime rates and public safety concerns throughout Florida. Observers are questioning the growing incidence of violence and property crimes, alongside the support structures available for both victims and offenders. With events such as these, the community is left wondering not just about justice, but about what can be done to prevent such occurrences from becoming the norm.

Authorities encourage anyone with information about Alvelo's accomplice to step forward and assist with the investigation. Meanwhile, as these stories demonstrate, vigilance remains key amid rising demands for public safety and accountability within communities.
