First Trailer Released For New Buratino Film

The upcoming adaptation of Tolstoy's classic fairy tale is set for January 2026 release.

The excitement surrounding the upcoming film "Buratino" is palpable as the first trailer was released on April 21, 2025, by NMG Kinoprokat. This new adaptation of Alexei Tolstoy's beloved fairy tale, "The Golden Key, or The Adventures of Buratino," is set to hit Russian cinemas on January 1, 2026, exactly fifty years after the original Soviet film.

In this reimagining, Vitaliya Kornienko takes center stage, portraying the curious wooden boy Buratino through advanced motion capture technology. The story follows the lonely carpenter Papa Carlo, who discovers a magical key that can grant any wish. When he wishes for a son, his wooden creation comes to life, leading to a series of adventures that challenge Buratino to prove his worth as a loving and good son.

The cast features a plethora of renowned Russian actors, including Alexander Yatsenko as Papa Carlo, Fedor Bondarchuk as the villainous Karabas-Barabas, and Victoria Isakova as the cunning Alisa. Other notable performances include Alexander Petrov as the sly Kot Bazilio, Anastasia Talyzina as Malvina, and Mark Eidelstein as Pierrot. The ensemble is rounded out by Lev Zulkarnaev as Duremar, Rusil Minekaev as Arlekin, and Svetlana Nemolyaeva as Tortila, all of whom bring depth to this enchanting narrative.

Director Igor Voloshin, known for his work on "The Wizard of Oz: The Road of Yellow Brick" and "The Lord of the Wind," helms this project, promising a blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling. The film will also feature recognizable musical compositions from Alexei Rybinikov, alongside new melodies crafted specifically for this adaptation.

Filming took place primarily at Moskino Film Park, where a unique Italian city set from the 19th-20th centuries was constructed, complete with a town square, fountains, and various shops. This immersive environment is designed to transport audiences into the whimsical world of Buratino.

As anticipation builds, the trailer showcases vibrant scenes and introduces the characters through lively music, reminiscent of the classic Soviet adaptation. The return of this cherished story to the big screen has stirred excitement among fans of all ages, eager to see how Buratino's journey unfolds in this new cinematic experience.

In addition to the buzz around "Buratino," the article also touched upon other notable developments in the gaming world. For instance, the remastered version of "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" is rumored to require a hefty 120 GB on PC, and the upcoming portable PlayStation 6 is expected to support all PlayStation 5 games, albeit with some potential compatibility issues.

As the release date approaches, the film "Buratino" is poised to not only revive a classic tale but also to introduce it to a new generation, blending tradition with innovation. The enchanting story of Buratino, filled with adventure, friendship, and the quest for identity, remains as relevant today as it was when it first captivated audiences decades ago.
