A fire broke out on the morning of March 19, 2025, in a warehouse located on Towarowa Street in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, injuring one person and forcing the evacuation of 30 others. The blaze was reported around 9:45 AM, and firefighters quickly responded to the scene.
The fire engulfed a section of the 800-square-meter facility, affecting approximately 50 square meters. The warehouse was used for storing various items, including textiles and empty aerosol cans. Upon arrival, the emergency services discovered significant smoke billowing from the building.
According to Captain Paweł Plagowski of the County State Fire Service in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, “W wyniku pożaru jedna osoba została poparzona. Trafiła pod opiekę zespołu ratownictwa medycznego, a następnie przewieziona do szpitala.” (As a result of the fire, one person was burned. They were attended by a medical rescue team and then taken to the hospital.) This individual suffered injuries but fortunately, the quick response of rescue teams mitigated any further risks.
Firefighters from five different units, along with volunteers from local fire brigades, responded to the emergency. These included units from OSP Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, as well as heavy rescue equipment from nearby towns like Zakroczym, Pomiechówek, and Czosnów. The coordinated effort was led by Chief Stanisław Brzozowski of the County State Fire Service.
Efforts were made to bring the fire under control quickly. “Sytuacja została szybko opanowana, dzięki czemu pożar nie rozprzestrzenił się dalej,” said Captain Plagowski, indicating that the situation was contained and further damage was avoided. This swift action allowed for the safety of the nearby areas and ensured that no further evacuations were necessary.
The damaged section of the warehouse, where the fire occurred, has been assessed, and the firefighters have removed burnt materials from the premises. Following the incident, the authorities began investigating the cause of the fire, although specifics have yet to be determined.
