Final Chance For Students To Secure University Seats

Students can choose courses at São Paulo universities, with time running out to enroll.

Students classified under the Provão Paulista Seriado 2024, who have completed the third year of high school within the state educational network, now have another chance to secure their spots at public universities across São Paulo for the 2025 academic year. The São Paulo State Education Department (Seduc-SP) has opened the registration for this new and final course selection process, which runs from February 12 to 16.

This fourth call is aimed at any student who did not achieve admission during the first three calls or who has not finalized their enrollment at another university but has obtained qualifying scores within the Provão Paulista. Students are permitted to confirm their preferences for two courses—one at either the University of São Paulo (USP) or the São Paulo State University (Unesp), and another at one of the state’s Technological Colleges (Fatecs). It is worth noting, though, the University of Campinas (Unicamp) has already closed its enrollment process.

With the conclusion of the three unified calls by public universities, students will now be competing for remaining spots alongside candidates approved through the Unified Selection System (Sisu). Notably, for each student who selected USP or Unesp earlier, they must finalize their choice by selecting only one course, contending solely for for the remaining vacancy.

According to Seduc-SP, there are currently 288 available spots across 29 courses at the Fatecs for the upcoming academic year. Students can select courses varying from food technology to logistics and chemical processes, with options available across numerous municipalities including Campinas, Indaiatuba, and Piracicaba.

During last year's selection process, participants were required to submit eight course options. This time, only two choices are necessary, allowing student flexibility, particularly those who may desire to shift fields or themes.

"If you are a student who got the score and is classified under the Provão Paulista, go back to the choice portal and check the available options. Choose, for example, the Fatec closest to your home in a course or area you would like to study," advises Carlos Eduardo Lavor, evaluation coordinator for Seduc-SP.

The opportunities are available at state colleges, and students can choose their preferred area and location. With the opening of the fourth call, the stakes are high, as many students are left competing for the limited spots across the institutions.

The first waitlist for USP will be published on March 7, with subsequent lists scheduled for March 17 and 24. Students will need to confirm their enrollment between April 1 and 3 to finalize their spots, reiterates Seduc-SP.

Students must remain vigilant and take action to secure their educational aspirations effectively during this pivotal period, ensuring all necessary documents are submitted punctually.

For any inquiries, students can reach out to the Central Unified Enrollment office at USP, available from 8 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, at (11) 3091-3442 or via email at [email protected].

This final chance to enroll under the Provão Paulista reinforces the importance of timely responses and thorough preparations for those seeking to begin their academic efforts at renowned public institutions in São Paulo.
