The Festival d'Été de Québec (FEQ) has announced its exciting lineup for 2025, promising performances from numerous international stars on the picturesque Plains of Abraham.
Taking place from July 3 to 13, the festival will welcome music fans with headlining acts including the likes of Shania Twain, Rod Stewart, Slayer, and Avril Lavigne, alongside many other diverse artists sure to please festival-goers.
The lineup, revealed during a press conference, features Shania Twain performing on July 12, marking her much-anticipated appearance after years of speculation about her joining the festival. "It’s the artist who has fueled the most rumors throughout the history of the FEQ. We've been talking for ten years now; it’s finally the right moment," stated Louis Bellavance, the festival’s director of programming.
The festival’s grand opening on July 3 will feature the iconic Rod Stewart, accompanied by Richard Marx and Glass Tiger. During the first weekend, the nostalgia factor will be high with shows booked such as Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan on July 4, followed by Benson Boone on July 5, alongside hard rock with Def Leppard set to take the stage.
Festival enthusiasts can look forward to musical nights dedicated to country, electropop, and metal, with Kygo headlining the electro night on July 9, and the metal legends Slayer and Mastodon featuring on July 11. Special themed nights will also be part of the festival experience, helping create distinct atmospheres throughout.
This year’s festival adds something new, with Country Day set at George V Park featuring local talent like Nate Smith and Jade Eagleson, alongside their performances on the main plains.
Other notable acts include Hozier, Bigflo & Oli, Ice Spice, Sean Paul, and Farruko, who will close the festival on its final night, July 13. For country music aficionados, Maren Morris will join Shania Twain on stage to celebrate the genre.
The festival has already seen excitement grow rapidly as it sold out its pre-sale of 20,000 passes within minutes of being made available. There are now 105,000 general admission passes on sale, and experts predict another sold-out event this year.
The impressive array of talent displayed this year is complemented by the festival’s goal to maintain a weekend of thrilling entertainment for all ages and music preferences. Louis Bellavance expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "This year, our programming is rich and dense, filled with legendary artists who have nothing left to prove, without neglecting the talent of the moment demanded by everyone. We believe every night can rival the previous one, which is both rare and remarkable! We claim our enthusiasm to explore all musical horizons, allowing every festival-goer to experience their moment of grace."
With this diverse lineup, the FEQ 2025 is set to be one of the most memorable editions yet, with audiences eagerly awaiting the performances of such beloved artists. The event not only showcases established headliners but also promotes local talents, creating space for both discovery and nostalgia within the vibrant setting of Quebec City.
