Fauve Hautot, a celebrated figure in the world of dance and a prominent star of the French television show Danse avec les stars, has announced that she will not return to the dance floor as a competitor after an impressive nine-year career as a dancer. Hautot, who has won the competition four times, now embraces a new chapter in her artistic journey.
Since her debut in 2011, Hautot has made a significant impact on Danse avec les stars, securing victories in 2012 with singer Emmanuel Moire, 2019 with athlete Sami El Gueddari, 2021 with singer Tayc, and 2022 with Billy Crawford. Her talent and charisma have made her a fan favorite, but she has decided to step back from competitive dancing.
In an interview with Télé-Loisirs, Hautot expressed her desire to explore new creative avenues. "I’ve performed for nine years as a dancer; I feel I’ve done enough of it," she stated, emphasizing her ambition to move on to other projects. "I want to experiment with different things, and I’ve been very clear that my season with Billy Crawford was somewhat of a conclusion. I find that I’ve done a lot in this show, and I’ve learned immensely each time."
Hautot's transition from dancer to judge was marked by her return to the jury panel for the current season of the show, a role she previously held during the sixth and eighth seasons. "I love the live spectacle. It’s really focused on dance, my profession and passion. I enjoy watching these amateurs push themselves to learn," she shared, highlighting her commitment to fostering talent.
On March 28, 2025, Hautot will make a special appearance on the dance floor for the prime of La bataille des juges, where she will partner with Olympic champion Florent Manaudou for an Argentine tango. During rehearsals, Manaudou remarked, "Wow, you’re going too fast, Fauve! It’s going at two thousand!" This playful exchange reflects the high energy and enthusiasm that Hautot brings to her performances.
Despite her return to the show in a different capacity, Hautot firmly believes that her days as a competitive dancer are behind her. "I dance all the time, not just on television. I recently returned from a week at the Centre chorégraphique national de Nancy, where I worked with professionals to promote the ballet lorrain. I also conduct many workshops. My goal today is to establish myself within the French choreographic landscape," she explained.
As she pivots towards a broader artistic career, Hautot and her partner, dancer Romain Guillermic, have founded their own company, which aims to blend their distinct styles and create innovative dance performances. "We are incredibly happy! The project was born after our performance during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games; that’s when we realized we could work together. Our two worlds are very different, but we share a common love for dance and image. Our goal is to create art by mixing the two, without being confined to a single box," she said enthusiastically.
In addition to her dance career, Hautot has also ventured into acting, appearing in various projects that showcase her versatility. She recently made a cameo in the film Délocalisés and plays a prison guard in the series Zonz. "I can’t reveal too much, but this role is a wonderful gift," she remarked, indicating her excitement about her expanding portfolio.
Hautot's journey reflects her dedication to the performing arts, as she continues to inspire others through her work as a judge on Danse avec les stars and her new artistic endeavors. Her commitment to dance education and promotion is evident in her efforts to make dance accessible to the public, as she aims to share her knowledge and experience with aspiring dancers.
As she embarks on this new chapter, Hautot remains a beloved figure in the dance community, and her influence will undoubtedly continue to resonate within the industry. With her passion for dance and her willingness to embrace change, she sets a powerful example for others to follow.
