Farmers Await 19th Installment Of PM Kisan Yojana Payments

Prime Minister Modi will transfer ₹2,000 to nearly 10 crore farmers just before Holi festivities.

Farmers across India are eagerly anticipating the release of the 19th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, which will be credited to their accounts on February 24, 2025. The honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is set to transfer these funds directly to approximately 9.8 crore farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, announced Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on February 23, 2025.

The PM-KISAN scheme, launched on February 24, 2019, was created to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers. Under this initiative, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments of ₹2,000. The last installment was released on October 5, 2024, which saw 9.4 crore farmers receiving ₹20,000 crore. The imminent transfer is particularly poignant as it occurs just before the Holi festival, marking it as significant for many recipients.

To check if they receive the financial assistance, farmers can access the PM-KISAN official website at pmkisan.gov.in. On the homepage, farmers should click the 'Know Your Status' tab, where they can input their registration number, complete the Captcha code, and view their beneficiary status.

The eligibility criteria for receiving benefits under the PM Kisan scheme include being an Indian citizen, owning cultivable land, and not exceeding certain income thresholds. Specifically, applicants should not have income tax liabilities or receive pensions exceeding ₹10,000 monthly. This ensures the assistance flows to those who truly need financial support for agricultural activities.

The government emphasized the importance of completing electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) to avoid any disruption to payments. Farmers can complete their e-KYC either via Aadhaar-linked mobile methods, face authentication, or by visiting Common Service Centers for biometric verification.

To verify their name on the beneficiary list for the 19th installment, farmers can follow these steps:

  • Visit the official PM-KISAN portal.

  • Click on the 'Beneficiary List' option and select the necessary details from the drop-down menus such as state, district, and block.

  • Click on 'Get Report' to view the beneficiary list.

Should any farmer find their name missing from the list, they are advised to reach out to their local authorities for clarification. For any issues, farmers can also contact helpline numbers provided on the portal.

The PM Kisan scheme has concluded the disbursal of ₹3.46 lakh crore to beneficiaries over its duration, reinforcing its status as one of the world's largest DBT programs. It aims to safeguard the financial security of farmers, providing them with regular support to face the vagaries of agricultural life.

With today's anticipated release of the 19th installment, farmers are reminded to prepare their documents beforehand. They must submit valid application forms accompanied by required documentation, including linking their Aadhaar numbers to their bank accounts to facilitate smooth transactions.

Farmers like Shyam Kushwaha, who practice integrated farming, underscored the program's significance, observing how the provisions have helped stabilize their lives economically: “The PM Kisan Yojana has been instrumental during tough times, allowing us to invest in our crops and adapt to changing market conditions.” This sentiment is echoed across rural communities, where financial support can markedly change lives.

With preparations underway for the release of this significant funding, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana continues to reflect the Indian government's commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of its farming community.
