Fargo Police Department made three arrests during the investigation of vehicle thefts on Sunday, December 29, 2025, effectively tackling rising crime concerns within the city.
The operation commenced at 12:37 p.m. when officers attempted to locate 31-year-old Jeremiah McDonald at a residence located at 2500 block of 9th Street North. Notably, McDonald had active warrants for robbery, third-degree assault, gross misdemeanor theft, and various drug-related offenses.
During the search for McDonald, officers encountered a white Jeep Patriot parked in the area. Dispatch confirmed it was reported stolen out of Moorhead. Upon approaching the vehicle, which housed two individuals—30-year-old Blade Kenyon and 22-year-old Mackenzie Higdem—the suspects sped off, evading capture.
According to reports, "The stolen Jeep was later observed in Moorhead, where the Moorhead Police Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office pursued the vehicle briefly before terminating the chase due to the suspects’ dangerous driving behavior." The Jeep eventually made its way back to Fargo, last being seen near the intersection of 25th Street and 32nd Avenue South.
Simultaneously, Fargo police were investigating another vehicle theft reported on Friday, December 27. Information emerged from discussions with the victim who had previously contacted McDonald, providing officers with details to finalize his location. This intelligence led to McDonald's apprehension near 21st Avenue and 15th Street South without incident.
Meanwhile, law enforcement received notifications from observant citizens about the stolen Jeep being parked at a garage situated at 3500 block of 42nd Street South. They overheard Kenyon and Higdem discussing their previous attempt to flee from the police, prompting immediate action from the authorities.
Upon arriving, officers found the Jeep secured along with the two suspects. Interestingly, Kenyon surrendered peacefully, but Higdem attempted to escape on foot. Fortunately, officers apprehended Higdem shortly after her flight.
Kenyon has been charged with possession of the stolen vehicle, fleeing from officers, and boasts five outstanding warrants from Cass County. Higdem was arrested for refusal to halt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
This trio of arrests reflects the police department's dedication to addressing vehicle thefts, which have become increasingly prevalent. Authorities continue to encourage citizen vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
The Fargo Police Department's swift actions highlight the importance of community cooperation and effective policing strategies to curtail criminal behavior. With these arrests, they hope to deter future incidents and maintain the safety of the community.
