FamilyMart has announced exciting new collaborations and promotions to engage fans with exclusive merchandise and delicious food options. Starting December 20, 2024, several unique offerings will debut across stores, targeting anime enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
One of the standout promotions is the collaboration between FamilyMart and the popular multimedia project "Paradox Live," which will feature limited-edition merchandise starting December 20. Fans can look forward to original slide keychains inspired by characters from the project, including BAE and The Cat’s Whiskers. These collectibles come in nine different designs, priced at 990 yen (tax included). FamilyMart's official Twitter account shared their anticipation for the release, urging fans to pick their favorite team’s merchandise.
Meanwhile, FamilyMart is also promoting its special "Ehomaki" (rolled sushi) for the 2025 Setsubun festival, which begins on December 20, 2024. This year's selection is particularly noteworthy, featuring high-quality offerings crafted by expert chefs. The "Ehomaki" lineup includes dishes supervised by renowned restaurants like "Sanpi Ryoron" and "Kakiyasu," with prices starting from 550 yen.
Sanpi Ryoron, established in Ebisu, is providing the "Superb Seafood Ehomaki" priced at 1,300 yen, which uses premium ingredients such as premium tuna and Sanriku salmon. Meanwhile, the Kakiyasu's "Beef Rice Ehomaki" (1,080 yen) highlights domestic black-haired Wagyu beef, recognized for its rich flavor complemented by sautéed vegetables.
A unique addition to this year’s Ehomaki is the collaboration with the popular game "Touken Ranbu ONLINE." This special collaboration will also feature two types of Ehomaki inspired by sword characters from the game, available for 2,000 yen. The elegant packaging adds to the appeal, making it a desirable option for collectors.
Aside from traditional offerings, FamilyMart will also introduce the "Korean-style Kimpa Ehomaki" (660 yen), which showcases delicious beef bulgogi paired with flavored omelet and seasoned namul. Sweets will also be part of the festive lineup, including "Setsubun Chocolate Banana Crepe" and "Setsubun Shio Mame Daifuku."
Food enthusiasts can place their orders for the 2025 Ehomaki starting December 20, with various reservation deadlines set to accommodate different regional offerings. Notably, for reservations made through the FamilyMart app "Famipay,"customers can enjoy reward points equivalent to 100 yen per item ordered, encouraging early purchases and reducing food waste.
"With Ehomaki, we want to cater to our customers’ needs," said FamilyMart President Kensuke Hosomi. "By extending our reservation period and introducing diverse options, we aim to reduce food waste and bring excitement to our customers during Setsubun."
FamilyMart continues to leverage its partnerships with trending media to bring fans exciting merchandise. On the same day, collectibles themed around the mobile game "Azur Lane" will be available, featuring unique characters rendered from specific commissioned art. Items include acrylic stands and keychains, appealing to fans who love character-based merchandise.
"The original goods from 'Azur Lane' are sure to attract many fans; it's our way to bring fresh, fun items to stores," added Hosomi.
And for fans of online content creators, FamilyMart is introducing random bromides featuring characters from the streaming group "Joshi Kenkyu Daigaku" starting December 26. The available prints will showcase exclusive illustrations from popular VTubers and will be available through FamilyMart's print services.
