Expo 2025 Hosts Walk The Talk For SDGs Event

The event on June 15 aims to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals through entertainment and community engagement.

The United Nations Pavilion and Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd. are set to host a significant event titled "Walk the Talk for SDGs in EXPO2025 UN&YOSHIMOTO" at the Osaka-Kansai Expo on June 15, 2025. This event aims to enhance awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while promoting community engagement and entertainment.

Centered around the theme of the expo, "Designing a Future Society in which Life Shines," the event will take place across various locations within the expo grounds. Participants will have the chance to engage in activities that encourage them to discover their personal goals related to the SDGs, fostering a deeper understanding of these important objectives.

One of the highlights of the event will be the participation of the global boy band JO1, who will serve as special supporters. They will perform at both the opening and closing stages at the main venue, EXPO Hall "Shine Hatt." The opening stage is scheduled to start at 11:00 AM and conclude at 12:45 PM, while the closing stage will run from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. JO1's performance is expected to draw large crowds, given their popularity.

In addition to live performances, the event will be streamed live on YouTube's "Yoshimoto Kogyo Channel," allowing a broader audience to participate virtually. This initiative aims to bridge entertainment with the principles of the SDGs, making the event accessible to those unable to attend in person.

The event is designed to be inclusive, with free participation for anyone who enters the expo venue. However, for those wishing to attend the opening and closing stages at EXPO Hall, advance lottery applications are required. The application period for these reservations runs from May 15, 2025, at 0:00 until June 7, 2025, at 23:59. Participants will need to secure a digital entrance ticket and reserve their visit time in advance.

On the day of the event, the United Nations Pavilion will feature special projects aimed at educating visitors about various UN initiatives in a fun and engaging manner. Meanwhile, the Yoshimoto waraii myraii Hall will host popular comedians from Yoshimoto Kogyo, providing a stage filled with laughter and entertainment.

In a unique twist, JO1 will also be featured in a stamp rally across various expo locations. Visitors can scan QR codes to receive images with original messages from the band members. This interactive component is designed to enhance the experience and encourage attendees to engage more deeply with the SDGs.

In conjunction with this event, the Japan Association for the 2025 International Exposition announced on May 9, 2025, an expansion of reservation slots for visitors at the East Gate, adjacent to Yumeshima Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. Starting May 10, 2025, and continuing through June 8, 2025, the reservation slots for morning visits on Saturdays and Sundays will be increased. This decision was made to alleviate congestion, particularly since approximately 60% of visitors are expected to use the Chuo Line.

The association noted that the East Gate has been experiencing more congestion compared to the West Gate, which primarily serves visitors arriving by shuttle bus. By expanding the reservation slots for the 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM time frame on weekends, the association hopes to improve visitor flow and overall operational efficiency.

As the expo approaches, excitement is building around the various events planned, particularly the "Walk the Talk for SDGs" initiative. This event not only highlights the importance of the SDGs but also emphasizes the power of community and collaboration in achieving these global goals.

With a focus on bringing people together, the event encapsulates the spirit of the expo, where participants can enjoy entertainment while learning about sustainable practices and goals. As the date draws near, organizers are optimistic about the turnout and the impact this event will have on raising awareness of the SDGs.

In summary, the "Walk the Talk for SDGs in EXPO2025 UN&YOSHIMOTO" event promises to be a landmark occasion, blending entertainment with education. With JO1's involvement and the engaging activities planned, attendees can expect a memorable experience that not only entertains but also inspires action towards a more sustainable future.
