A few months after receiving the crown and sash of Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, life for Eve Gilles dramatically transformed overnight when she was elected Miss France 2024. The then 20-year-old made history as the first woman with short hair to hold the title. "I decided to cut my hair on a whim. It brought out something inside of me, it changed me and made me look more like a strong woman. That's what I want to show," she explained.
During her reign, Eve Gilles made numerous media appearances, most prominently at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where she was invited to carry the torch for the Olympic flame relay. But all good things eventually come to an end, and December 14 marked the conclusion of her reign. The now 21-year-old passed the torch to Angélique Angarni-Filopon, who, at 34, became the oldest candidate to win the Miss France crown.
Reflecting on her new life away from Paris, Eve Gilles shared insights on her adjusted routine several weeks after transferring her title. "I have put my life on hold. I’ve been going back and forth to manage my schedule for the upcoming weeks. I also had to unpack and settle. I had to make sure my cat felt comfortable," she revealed, now residing again in her hometown of North-Pas-de-Calais.
Despite moving back to her beloved region, Miss France 2024 also mentioned she would return to Paris "several weeks" for her participation in the dancing competition, "Danse avec les stars." "My region means so much to me, and I would have made numerous trips to return anyway. So, I prefer to install myself directly there," she added.
Eve Gilles is following the tradition of past beauty queens who have graced the dance floor. After personalities like Laury Thilleman, Valérie Bègue, and Iris Mittenaere, it’s now Eve’s turn to shine on the stage of "Danse avec les stars." The announcement was made by Fauve Hautot during the live broadcast of the 95th Miss France election, where Angélique Angarni-Filopon was crowned.
While her dance partner has not yet been revealed, Eve will compete against prominent celebrities like Sophie Davant, Florent Manaudou, and Adil Rami. Her participation is far from surprising, as she had expressed interest during Q&A sessions prior to her casting. "It would be a dream for me to be part of this program," she had stated, and it seems her dream has come true!
Since stepping down as Miss France, Eve Gilles has experienced significant changes, paving the way for exciting new ventures. Angélique Angarni-Filopon may be currently basking under the spotlight, but Eve remains committed to her future projects, which undoubtedly include her upcoming stint on the dance show. Encouraging her fans to root for her, she seems poised to take on this thrilling new chapter with enthusiasm.
Overall, Eve Gilles reflects on her transformative experience as Miss France, cherishing the achievements and lessons learned during her remarkable reign, all the meanwhile preparing to re-enter the limelight as part of the popular dance competition. Through her story, she exemplifies resilience, passion, and the courage to embrace new challenges as she steps away from her crown and sash but continues to shine.
