Eva González Returns To Host La Voz Kids Season Premiere

The popular talent show features new coaches and exciting changes for its sixth season.

Eva González, a prominent figure in Spanish television, is gearing up for the much-anticipated premiere of the sixth season of La Voz Kids on Antena 3 this Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 22:00 hours. The show, which has captivated audiences with its showcase of young talent, returns with a fresh lineup of coaches that includes renowned artists like Edurne and Manuel Turizo, alongside returning favorites David Bisbal and Lola Índigo.

González, who previously hosted all editions of MasterChef for six years, including the Junior and Celebrity versions, has made it clear that she has no intention of returning to the competitive cooking show as a contestant. In a recent interview with El Periódico, she stated, "No! Under no circumstances. No, no, no. And, moreover, I categorically tell you no. I’ve lived what it is, you already know." She emphasized the intense pressure contestants face during long filming days, calling them "brave" for taking on such a challenge.

González’s departure from MasterChef in 2018 marked a significant transition in her career. Since then, she has embraced her role on La Voz, where she has hosted over 15 editions across various formats. The upcoming season promises not only to deliver exceptional talent but also introduces new features like "super blocks," allowing coaches to block one another from selecting a contestant already chosen by another coach. Each coach will have the opportunity to choose 14 young talents to form their teams, enhancing the competitive spirit of the show.

In her role, González has developed a special bond with the young contestants, often finding joy in their spontaneity and innocence. "I’ve worked a lot with children and I love it," she remarked, noting that while La Voz Kids is a competition, it is approached with a sense of playfulness, unlike the adult version where stakes are higher. "Here, they come to play at being big stars," she added, highlighting the relaxed atmosphere of the show.

González also discussed the emotional dynamics of the auditions, where she often comforts families dealing with disappointment when their children aren't selected. "Yes, I have encountered some parents who haven’t accepted that their child wasn’t chosen, but it’s less than 1% of all families I’ve dealt with over the years," she explained. The show provides psychological support to help children and their families cope with the pressures of competition.

As the show prepares to launch, González expressed her excitement about the new coaches and their contributions. "I love how Edurne is doing. She shows that she’s a mom, and it reflects in her approach to mentoring," she noted. The new season will open with the coaches performing songs from Edurne and Turizo, setting the stage for a vibrant and engaging competition.

In addition to her hosting duties, González recently appeared on the popular quiz show Pasapalabra, where she joined fellow celebrities to support the teams. Her presence on the show is a testament to her enduring popularity and versatility as a television personality.

Meanwhile, Roberto Leal, another beloved host in Spanish television, has also been in the spotlight lately. He was featured in a photoshoot for Men's Health, which sparked discussions about his fitness journey and career. In a light-hearted moment on his show, he joked about colleagues who have yet to appear on Pasapalabra, naming Susanna Griso, Josep Pedrerol, and Mónica Carrillo as those who have declined his invitation. Leal’s affable nature and ability to connect with audiences continue to make him a favorite.

As for González, she reflects on her journey in the television industry, which spans over two decades since she was crowned Miss Spain in 2003. Her transition from modeling to hosting has been marked by significant milestones, including her marriage to bullfighter Cayetano Rivera Ordóñez in 2015 and their subsequent separation in 2022 after 13 years together. Despite the challenges in her personal life, González remains focused on her career and the joy she finds in connecting with audiences through her work.

As the premiere of La Voz Kids approaches, excitement builds among fans eager to witness the talent and heartwarming moments that the show promises to deliver. With a blend of new features and a talented coaching panel, this season is set to captivate viewers once again, making Saturday nights a family affair.
