Eurojackpot Draw Sees 520 Million PLN Up For Grabs

No main prize was won in the latest drawing, leaving players eager for the next chance to win big.

The Eurojackpot lottery, a popular game that has captivated players across Europe, recently held its latest drawing on May 6, 2025. With a staggering prize pool of 520 million PLN, excitement was palpable among participants hoping to strike it rich. However, the main prize went unclaimed, as no player managed to correctly guess all the winning numbers.

The numbers drawn on that fateful Tuesday were 1, 21, 22, 46, 49, along with the additional numbers 9 and 10. Despite the absence of a grand prize winner, the drawing still yielded significant winnings for several players. Three second-degree prizes were awarded, with two winners in Germany and one in Denmark, each taking home approximately 6,061,762.90 euros. Additionally, nine third-degree winners—six from Germany and one each from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden—walked away with 202,446.30 euros each.

In Poland, the excitement continued with three fourth-degree wins, each valued at 334,215.00 PLN. Yet, it’s important to note that any winnings exceeding 2,280 PLN are subject to a 10% tax, which is deducted at the time of payout. This tax is collected by Totalizator Sportowy, the operator of the lottery, and remitted to the tax office.

Eurojackpot was launched in March 2012 and has since become a staple of the European lottery scene. It was introduced to the Polish market on September 9, 2017, allowing players from the country to participate in this exciting game. Drawings occur twice a week, on Tuesdays at 20:15 and Fridays at 20:00, with each bet costing 12.50 PLN. Players select five numbers from a pool of 50 and two additional numbers from a set of 12.

The maximum prize pool for Eurojackpot stands at 120 million euros, which translates to over half a billion PLN. This record prize was first achieved on July 19, 2022, although it went unclaimed that week. The following draw saw a player from Denmark claim the jackpot.

As players eagerly await the next drawing, scheduled for May 9, 2025, the anticipation builds. With the prize pool still at an impressive 520 million PLN, many are left wondering if the next round will finally yield a grand prize winner.

For those unfamiliar with the game, the rules of Eurojackpot are straightforward. Players can either choose their own numbers or opt for a quick pick, where numbers are randomly generated. The simplicity of the game, combined with the allure of life-changing sums of money, has made Eurojackpot a favorite among lottery enthusiasts.

The Eurojackpot has witnessed some remarkable wins since its inception. The first major Polish win occurred on May 10, 2019, when a player from the Łódź Voivodeship won 193 million PLN during a maximum rollover. The record for the largest Polish win was set on August 12, 2022, when over 213 million PLN was claimed in the Krotoszyn district, marking a historic moment for the country’s lottery players.

Another substantial win occurred on August 13, 2021, when a player from the Bieruńsko-Lędziński district won over 206 million PLN. These high-stakes wins have fueled public interest in the lottery, with many players dreaming of their own moment of fortune.

As the next draw approaches, players are reminded of the odds involved in such games. While the potential for massive winnings is enticing, the likelihood of winning the jackpot remains slim. Yet, that doesn’t deter hopeful participants, who continue to buy tickets in hopes of changing their lives forever.

The Eurojackpot remains a beacon of hope for many, illustrating the age-old adage that you can’t win if you don’t play. With each drawing, the excitement and dreams of millions hang in the balance, waiting for the next set of numbers to be revealed.

As the clock ticks down to the next drawing, players are urged to check their tickets and prepare for what could be a life-altering night. Will anyone finally break the streak of unclaimed jackpots? Only time will tell.
