Eterna Series Trailer Launches Ahead Of Summer Premiere

KinoPoisk unveils the thrilling trailer for Eterna, based on Vera Kamsha's epic novels, set to premiere July 5.

Online cinema platform KinoPoisk has unveiled the full trailer for the highly anticipated fantasy series "Eterna," set to premiere on July 5. The show will consist of six episodes and is based on Vera Kamshas book series "Reflections of Eterna." The storyline revolves around the fictional planet Kertiana, which faces devastating cataclysms every 400 years, traditionally protected by four local gods.

Presently, those very gods have deserted the world and its inhabitants, leaving Kertiana vulnerable as it approaches another impending disaster. This time, it is up to the people to rise to the occasion and defend their homeland. Unfortunately, as the circumstances intensify, humanity finds itself ensnared within political intrigue and palace power struggles, having forgotten their duty to protect their world.

Among the key heroes are Richard Okdell, the son of a rebel (portrayed by Ivan Trushin), and Aldo, the descendant of the dethroned royal dynasty (played by Anton Rogachev). With multiple factions vying for power, the series promises to be rife with betrayal, alliances, and personal vendettas, as each character fights to protect their interests.

The direction for this ambitious project is helmed by Sergey Trofimov, known for his work on "Zero Patient," and the showrunner is Evgeny Baranov, who previously worked on "The Exes." The cast also includes notable talents such as Yuri Chursin, Evgeny Stychkin, Ivan Dobronravov, Ksenia Treyster, Alexey Lukin, and Viktor Verzhbitsky.

The series carries the weight of its predecessor; the first pilot of the story was released as a feature film back in 2022. Initially conceived as a prologue to the series, it was later decided to restart the project completely, resulting in significant changes to the cast.

Set against a backcloth resembling 16th-17th century Europe, the series not only combines mythical narratives with vibrant political landscapes but also reflects the impending catastrophe known as the Great Rupture. This cataclysm threatens widespread destruction, thereby inciting fierce civil conflicts and fierce power struggles among its inhabitants.

With the trailer showcasing stunning visuals and glimpses of the central conflicts, the production aims to captivate viewers who are eager for another epic adventure, reminiscent of the grand stories previously celebrated within the fantasy genre. The diverse character arcs promise to be as gripping as they are character-driven, setting the stage for both action-packed sequences and emotional depth.

Many are already excited about what "Eterna" brings to todays culture, especially after the revitalization of its cast and narrative, which is seen as necessary to present the complex tales woven by Kamsha with modern flair and relevance. This transition from page to screen aims to transport audiences back to the floor of political machinations and the societal dilemmas faced by characters who echo the turmoil of real-world struggles.

Fans of the genre are buzzing with anticipation, underscoring the significance of strong narratives interlaced with personal stakes, indicative of what we can expect come July 5. The stakes are high, and the viewers' investment is sure to blossom as they root for their chosen heroes to emerge victorious against the all-too-real threats closing in on Kertiana.

With “Eterna,” viewers will not simply witness the battle against evil forces; they will also be treated to the exploration of diverse themes, making it not just another fantasy series, but rather one steeped deeply within the human experience.

On the cusp of its release, the imaginative world of "Eterna" beckons audiences, urging them to engage with its narrative and character developments, which promise to resonate long after the credits roll. Only time will tell if this transition from literature to film will yield the majestic spectacle fans are hoping for, which melds stunning visual effects with poignant storytelling.
