ENHYPEN And LE SSERAFIM Shine At Golden Disc Awards

The 39th Golden Disc Awards celebrate K-POP achievements and fan dedication amid notable performances.

The 39th Golden Disc Awards held at PayPay Dome Fukuoka turned out to be a night to celebrate K-POP's continuing global impact, featuring performances and notable wins from standout artists.

ENHYPEN led the night with three prestigious awards: the Album of the Year, the Fans' Choice with Nongshim Shin Ramen award, and the Global K-POP Artist award. This achievement is particularly significant as they have now maintained this streak since winning the Best New Artist award back in 2021.

"Last year, we just ran hard for our fans, ENGENE, and we are grateful to receive such meaningful awards," ENHYPEN expressed, thanking their dedicated fanbase. They assured their fans of continued efforts to create memorable experiences together.

The group also energized the audience with their powerful performances of three songs on stage, including their sweet number "XO (Only If You Say Yes)," which incited audience participation, showcasing their ability to engage fans.

Following this, they recreated the office concept from their music video for "No Doubt," which captivated viewers. The finale featured "Moonstruck," with enchanting visuals set under simulated moonlight, captivating the audience and eliciting loud cheers. Currently, ENHYPEN is on their world tour, "WALK THE LINE," with upcoming shows scheduled across several prominent venues.

LE SSERAFIM also made their mark at the awards, securing two awards and showcasing their growth as artists. They opened their performance with ballet elements led by member KAZUHA. Their performance continued with tracks "Pierrot" and "CRAZY EBM (Remix)," displaying their unique style and synergy.

The Golden Disc Awards have established themselves as one of the most reputable K-POP award ceremonies, celebrating achievements not just within Korea but also internationally, marking its sixth overseas event and second held in Japan since 2012.

Despite facing challenges due to safety incidents around the event, including the cancellation of certain red carpet activities, the ceremony carried on. Broadcasts of the event were facilitated by ABEMA, offering coverage after the incident, ensuring fans did not miss the celebrations.

During acceptance speeches, LE SSERAFIM’s CHAEWON expressed gratitude to everyone involved, acknowledging the collective effort of their team, staff, and devoted fans, known as FEARNOT. “We were able to overcome together all thanks to you,” she said.

Sakura, another member, reaffirmed the importance of their fans, promising to strive for improvement and express their gratitude through their performances. "This year, I want to make it a year to repay our DEARNOTS," she stated confidently.

The group also mentioned the importance of their bond with fans, stating, "It’s truly like receiving presents from our fans. I hope we can be there for you during both happy and tough times. Thank you for your support!"

Each performance provided glimpses of the captivating artistry these groups are known for, reinforcing their dedication to the craft and their connection to fans.

The Golden Disc Awards continue to shine light on the thriving K-POP industry and its global reach, providing entertainment and hope during challenging times. Viewership for the event was aided significantly through streaming services, ensuring fans worldwide were engaged and connected to the historic moments shared at the awards ceremony.

With the new year approaching, both ENHYPEN and LE SSERAFIM seem poised to make 2024 another landmark year for K-POP, filled with stellar performances and heartfelt connections to their fans.
