Energa Operator has announced substantial plans for upgrading its energy distribution network by allocating 331 million PLN this year. Leszek Szefler, the director of the Toruń branch, emphasized the importance of this investment to bolster the connectivity and resilience of the network against intensifying weather events, which have caused increasing disruptions recently.
With the rise of dynamic weather conditions leading to more frequent outages, the company is prioritizing enhancements to its infrastructure. "This network will become more resilient to all sorts of weather-related disturbances, especially since we’ve noticed a sharp increase in such incidents recently," Szefler stated.
Part of the investment will be directed toward increasing the capacity of the network, as the trend of solar panel installations continues to escalate, with nearly every building now adorned with photovoltaic systems. This upgrade will involve the modernization and expansion of approximately 200 kilometers of high-voltage lines, as the demand for energy surges.
Szefler pointed out the primary focus of Energa Operator's operations remains the development of the distribution network and constructing new facilities to accommodate new customers. This aligns with the company’s broader strategy, which includes investing around 2.7 billion PLN across the country and over 22 billion PLN by the year 2031.
Recent weather-related outages have prompted Energa Operator to take action, making this investment particularly timely. The modifications will not only assist regular consumers but will also support the increasing number of businesses and homes relying on renewable energy solutions.
To report power outages or any electrical emergencies, residents are encouraged to contact Energa Operator directly at 991, or through other emergency numbers provided. These resources are accessible around the clock, with the goal of responding quickly to any hazardous situations.
"When power is out, it’s important to check fuses first and verify if neighboring homes are also affected. If there’s still no power, residents should consult the outage map or report the issue,” Szefler explained. This proactive approach ensures the company can effectively monitor and address outages.
The commitment to network enhancements not only addresses current needs but also anticipates future demands as the region continues to grow with renewable energy technologies. Investments like these demonstrate Energa Operator’s dedication to sustainability and reliable electricity service.
Overall, the planned upgrades and investments reflect Energa Operator's response to the growing challenges within the energy sector, underlining its commitment to providing continuous, innovative, and resilient energy solutions for the community.
