Embrapa Contest Set To Challenge Thousands Of Candidates

With nearly 280,000 registrants, the examination on March 23 will determine 1,027 vacancies across several roles.

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, thousands of candidates across the country will participate in one of the most anticipated public competitions of the year, the Embrapa 2025 contest. With nearly 280,000 registered candidates, the competition is sure to be fierce, demanding a high level of preparation and focus from participants.

The Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa) is set to offer 1,027 immediate vacancies in various roles, including Assistant, Technician, Analyst, and Researcher. The remuneration packages vary significantly, with starting salaries ranging from R$2,186.19 to R$12,814.61 depending on the position.

The exams will be conducted in two shifts, with specific schedules for each role. For the Researcher and Technician positions, the gates will open at 7 AM and close at 8 AM, while tests are set to begin at 8:30 AM and will last approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes and 3 hours, respectively. The afternoon sessions for the Assistant and Analyst positions will see the gates open at 2 PM, closing at 3 PM, with tests commencing at 3:30 PM and running between 3 to 4 hours and 30 minutes, based on the specific role.

Candidates must adhere strictly to the identification requirements on exam day, bringing a valid government-issued photo ID and a transparent ballpoint pen with black ink. The exams will include both objective tests comprising 100 to 110 questions, depending on the position, and a written component for certain roles.

According to Cebraspe, the organizing body, the contest has received a staggering 279,701 approved registrations, making the competition particularly intense. The Technician position in the area of Supply, Maintenance, and Services is the most sought after, with over 41,790 candidates applying.

Participants are strongly advised to arrive early to avoid last-minute issues. They are also reminded that electronic devices, headgear such as hats or caps, and non-transparent food containers will not be permitted in the exam area. Candidates caught in possession of such items will be disqualified immediately.

It’s essential for candidates to review the subjects that will be covered in the exams. The general knowledge component will include topics such as Portuguese language skills, mathematics (for Assistants and Technicians), and English language proficiency (for Analysts and Researchers), among others. Subjects specific to various roles will include ethical considerations and Embrapa’s strategic planning.

After the examinations, preliminary answer keys are expected to be made available on March 25, 2025, allowing candidates to gauge their performance.
