Embraer, a global leader in the aerospace industry, is set to participate in the LAAD Defence & Security 2025 exhibition, the most important defense industry showcase in Latin America. The event, marking its 15th edition, will be held at Riocentro, Rio de Janeiro, from April 1 to April 4, 2025.
Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defence & Security, expressed enthusiasm about Embraer’s participation, stating, "We are honored to promote our state-of-the-art portfolio and our comprehensive solutions for aerial, terrestrial, maritime, space, and cyber segments, while strengthening our relationships with customers and partners worldwide." This commitment reflects the company's dedication to innovation and collaboration in defense technology.
One of the key attractions in Embraer’s lineup is the KC-390 Millennium, which has been operational with the Brazilian Air Force since 2019, with the Portuguese Air Force following suit in 2023 and the Hungarian Air Force in 2024. The KC-390 has demonstrated exceptional capacity, reliability, and performance, with a mission completion rate exceeding 99%, making it a leading choice among global air forces.
Currently, the KC-390 has been selected by 10 air forces globally, including Sweden and Slovakia, which recently opted for the aircraft as their new tactical transport solution. Other countries that have adopted the KC-390 include Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, and an undisclosed customer.
Another highlight from Embraer's portfolio is the A-29 Super Tucano, a global leader in its category, boasting over 290 orders and more than 580,000 flight hours accumulated, of which 60,000 hours were in combat. The A-29 is equipped with an advanced weapon system that facilitates operational efficiency across a wide range of missions, including Close Air Support (CAS), Air Patrol, Special Operations, and various training functions for pilots and air control.
In 2024, Embraer announced new sales of the Super Tucano, including the A-29N variant for the Portuguese Air Force, as well as acquisitions by the Uruguayan and Paraguayan Air Forces and two other undisclosed clients. Such sales underscore the increasing demand for Embraer’s aircraft in diverse military applications around the globe.
In addition to the KC-390 and A-29 Super Tucano, the exhibition will also feature Atech, Visiona Tecnologia Espacial, and Consórcio Águas Azuis, which are part of Embraer’s defense and security solutions.
Founded in 1969, Embraer has established itself as a significant player in the aviation sector, renowned for designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing aircraft and systems, alongside providing post-sale services and support to customers. With over 9,000 aircraft delivered, Embraer transports more than 150 million passengers annually, with a jet taking off every 10 seconds somewhere in the world.
