E.J. Tamayo Joins Fast Track Racing For ARCA 2025 Season

The 18-year-old driver aims to build on momentum from last year’s sixth-place finish at Elko Speedway.

HARRISBURG, N.C. – E.J. Tamayo is set to make a significant mark in the ARCA Menards Series East for 2025, joining Fast Track Racing to pilot the No. 01 car starting at Five Flags Speedway.

On March 18, 2025, the team confirmed Tamayo's participation in their part-time schedule, a move that comes after his promising debut season in the previous year where he finished sixth at Elko Speedway. Tamayo expressed his ambition to challenge himself further, stating, “To continue to improve and challenge myself, I believe that this is the right move at this time in my career.”

The 18-year-old driver, who previously excelled in the Carolina Pro Late Model Series, will kick off his 2025 campaign at Five Flags, with future races planned for Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Iowa Speedway, and Bristol Motor Speedway.

Fast Track Racing team owner Andy Hillenburg expressed his excitement about bringing young talent into the fold. “It’s always exciting to bring young kids into our program, and after watching EJ last year, I’m sure it will be a fun season,” Hillenburg said. “I look for a few great finishes with E.J. and hope to help him move up the racing ladder towards accomplishing his goals.”

For this upcoming season, Tamayo's crew will be composed of experienced figures in the racing scene. Ethan Hutchens is set to take on the role of crew chief, while Tony Cosentino will serve as Tamayo’s spotter and driver coach. Cosentino, who co-owns Tamayo’s late model team, is also competing part-time in ARCA this season.

After a successful stint in the Carolina Pro Late Model Series which saw him land seven top fives and 15 top tens across four part-time seasons, Tamayo's transition to national competition appears promising. He aims to maintain the momentum garnered from his last season's success, where he notably shined at Elko Speedway.

“After a great result at Elko last year, I feel that we can carry that momentum into the new season and have solid results,” Tamayo stated. He further conveyed his gratitude towards his sponsors, thanking them for their unwavering support. The sponsors for the No. 01 car include Amici Engineering Contractors, Halley Engineering Contractors, Tamayo Sports Florida, and The Isern Tamayo Family Foundation.

As part of the Fast Track Racing team, Tamayo will be accompanied by full-time East drivers Zachary Tinkle and Takuma Koga during the Five Flags event. Ed Pompa is also set to compete in this race, adding to the competitive spirit of the event.

The upcoming ARCA Menards Series East season begins on March 22, 2025, at Five Flags Speedway, with live coverage available on FloRacing at 8:30 PM ET. As anticipation builds, the Fast Track Racing team and Tamayo are optimistic about what lies ahead in this exciting new chapter of his racing career.
