The event aims to enhance golf in the Arab region with competitions for juniors and women.

The Egyptian Golf Federation has announced that it will host the 24th edition of the Arab Golf Championship for both juniors and women from May 7 to May 10, 2025. The event will take place at two prestigious venues: Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club, both located in Cairo. This championship aims to enhance and support the sport of golf within the Arab region, providing a platform for athletes from various member states to compete.

Participating nations in this championship include Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. The tournament will feature competitions across five age categories for boys and girls, as well as a special category dedicated to women. Notably, one of the events will be held for 24 hours, while other events will span 16 hours, showcasing a wide range of talent and competition.

Amr Hesham Talaat, the President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, expressed his excitement over hosting this significant event, marking it as the first golf championship on the Arab Golf Federation's agenda for 2025. "It is a great honor for us to organize the Arab Championship for juniors and women in a joint event between Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club," he stated. Talaat emphasized that this championship will be the first major regional tournament during the tenure of the new management board of the Egyptian Golf Federation.

In addition to the competitive aspects, the federation has ambitious plans to elevate the level of golf tournaments in Egypt and the Arab region, targeting both amateur and professional events. This is to be achieved through partnerships with local, regional, and international golf bodies, alongside professional golf tours from around the globe.

For the first time, the championship will invite the public to attend, aiming to engage residents of Madinaty through the organization of a ‘Golf Festival’ at Madinaty Golf Club alongside the tournament. This festival will include recreational golf activities and musical performances, designed to attract all age groups and introduce them to the sport in an enjoyable manner. "We strive to promote golf culture and encourage more individuals to engage in the sport at various levels," Talaat added.

The Egyptian Golf Federation is keen on enhancing Egypt's position on the sports tourism map by organizing this championship at the highest possible level. The event is set to take place in some of Cairo's finest golf courses, promising a positive experience for players, delegations, guests, and fans alike. Entry to the championship will be free, although prior registration is required. Interested individuals can find more information and register through the official link provided by the federation.

With the Arab Golf Championship approaching, excitement is building within the golfing community and beyond. This event is not only a chance for young golfers and women to showcase their talents but also an opportunity to uplift the sport of golf in the Arab world.
