Edurne is stepping into a new role as a coach on the beloved talent show, La Voz Kids, which is set to premiere its sixth season on Antena 3 this Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 22:00 hours. The Spanish singer, known for her vibrant personality and musical talent, will join fellow coaches David Bisbal, Lola Índigo, and Manuel Turizo in what promises to be an exciting season filled with young talents.
In a recent interview, Edurne expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "I love television. It's a space I've enjoyed for many years. Whenever I can combine it with my music, I’m all in." This marks a significant transition for Edurne, who left her previous role on GOT Talent España to focus more on her music career while embracing this new opportunity.
Edurne clarified that her departure from GOT Talent was not a direct switch to La Voz Kids, saying, "I did not leave GOT Talent for La Voz Kids. I want to clarify this because it gave that impression. GOT Talent ended in December, and this was in March; it was clear I would not continue." She emphasized that her decision was part of her natural professional evolution rather than a strategic move.
During her time on La Voz Kids, Edurne has found a special connection with the young contestants. "The kids have a unique magic, and I’m enamored with them. They all have talent, and it’s easy to work with them," she shared. Her role involves not just mentoring but also navigating the emotional landscape of the competition, especially when it comes to delivering tough news to the young participants. "It’s difficult when you have to say no, especially as you grow closer to them," Edurne noted. "But I always remind them that this is not the end of their musical journey; they have their whole lives ahead of them. Look at me, I finished sixth in a contest, and it didn’t define my career."
La Voz Kids returns to Antena 3 after a successful previous season, which was the most-watched program on Saturday nights, achieving an average audience share of 14.3%. The show grew by 1.1 points compared to its previous season and surpassed its main competitor by 6.4 points, attracting an average of 1.2 million viewers and nearly 3.7 million unique viewers per broadcast.
This season introduces several exciting new features, including the "super blocks," which allow coaches to block their competitors from selecting a contestant who has already caught their attention. Each coach will select 14 aspirants to form their teams, and for the first time, they will have the chance to give two contestants a second chance during the blind auditions. Additionally, the coaches will have a playlist of their favorite songs that will play when they use the remote control, adding a personal touch to the competition.
Edurne expressed her excitement about these new elements, saying, "The first phase, where you listen and fall in love with just a voice, is amazing. Then you turn around and see a child singing; it’s wonderful!" She looks forward to the emotional and musical journey this season will bring, both for herself and the contestants.
Joining Edurne are Manuel Turizo, who has previously served as an advisor on similar shows in Mexico and Argentina. Turizo shared his own enthusiasm for the experience, stating, "I’m enjoying it a lot with the kids. You discover so much talent, and it’s incredible to see how they handle the pressure." He also acknowledged Edurne's unique ability to connect with the children, saying, "She has a special talent with them, and it's beautiful to see how she interacts with them."
As the coaches prepare for the premiere, they are all aware of the competitive nature of the show. Edurne admitted, "I consider myself very competitive, and I’ve seen that my colleagues are as well. We all want to have the best team in La Voz Kids, which is why we use the blocks and super blocks—it adds excitement to the program."
With the return of La Voz Kids, viewers can expect a vibrant mix of talent, emotion, and entertainment. The show not only showcases the incredible abilities of young singers but also emphasizes the importance of support and encouragement in their journeys. As Edurne put it, "This is just the beginning for these kids, and I’m thrilled to be part of their stories." The premiere on May 3rd is set to be a highlight of the television week, promising to deliver the magic and excitement that La Voz Kids is known for.
As the countdown to the premiere continues, fans are eagerly anticipating the new season, ready to cheer on their favorite contestants and coaches. Edurne, with her passion for music and connection to the children, is poised to make this season one of the most memorable yet. Don’t miss the excitement as La Voz Kids returns to Antena 3, bringing with it a fresh wave of talent and heartwarming moments.
