East Kalimantan Prepares For Gratispol Program Launch

Community gathers for spiritual halalbihalal ahead of innovative service initiative

The Government of East Kalimantan (Pemprov Kaltim) hosted a spiritual halalbihalal event on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Gedung Olah Bebaya, located within the Governor's Office Complex. This gathering served as a precursor to the upcoming Gratispol program, set to launch on Monday, April 21, 2025. The event was not only a post-Idulfitri social occasion but also a platform for communal prayers and the sharing of moral messages with the public.

Wahyuni Hermaningsih Seno Aji, affectionately known as Bunda Seno, welcomed attendees from various backgrounds, expressing gratitude for the smooth execution of the event. "Alhamdulillah all went well and was filled with warmth. The presence of community members, the PKK mothers, youth from schools, and friends from various communities is proof that the spirit of togetherness in Kaltim remains very strong," she remarked.

The event featured a sermon by Koh Deni Liam, a speaker recognized for his focus on social and family themes. During his talk, he highlighted the serious threat of online gambling, particularly among the youth. Koh Deni stressed the crucial role of families, especially parents, in safeguarding children from negative influences through effective communication. "The questions from participants were very critical and constructive, such as those concerning the dangers of online gambling and how to educate children amidst the overwhelming flow of information. Koh Deni provided very grounded and inspiring answers," Bunda Seno noted.

Adding a poignant touch to the gathering, 100 orphans from Yayasan Darul Falah were specially invited to participate in a communal prayer, symbolizing spiritual support for the Gratispol program's launch. These children also received donations from the event organizers, reflecting the social empathy of the initiative. "We want today's event to be filled with blessings. The prayers from these orphans serve as a moral strength for all of us, so that the government's programs can run smoothly and benefit many," stated a representative from the organizing committee.

The participation of the orphans underscored that the event transcended mere religious observance; it also served as a space for social education and national identity, showcasing the active role of women in supporting government programs that directly impact community life.

The Gratispol program is an innovative step aimed at simplifying and waiving fees for various population administration services, particularly for students and low-income communities. This initiative will be officially inaugurated by Pemprov Kaltim on April 21, 2025, coinciding with Kartini Day, a celebration honoring women's contributions in Indonesia.

Through activities like the halalbihalal and communal prayers, the government seeks to reinforce not only the technical aspects of development but also the social and spiritual foundations believed to be vital for East Kalimantan in facing future challenges. Koh Deni emphasized the need for community vigilance against online gambling, highlighting it as a serious threat that requires collective awareness and action.

The event received support from various community elements, including religious institutions like Yayasan Rumah Quran, junior and senior high school students, and members of the PKK. Their presence illustrated a united front in addressing social issues and fostering a sense of community responsibility.

As the launch of the Gratispol program approaches, the government is optimistic about its potential impact on vulnerable groups, aiming to provide them with better access to essential services. Bunda Seno expressed her hope that the program would not only ease administrative burdens but also empower communities through increased participation and awareness.

In summary, the halalbihalal event on April 20 served as a significant precursor to the Gratispol program, emphasizing community solidarity, spiritual support, and the importance of addressing pressing social issues. The government of East Kalimantan is poised to implement this innovative program, which promises to enhance the lives of many residents, particularly those in need.
