The National Center for Meteorology has forecasted that the weather conditions on April 9, 2025, will continue to be influenced by active winds raising dust and dirt in parts of the Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and Northern Borders regions. There is also a possibility of light rain in some areas, and thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds are expected over parts of the Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Qassim, and Riyadh regions, as well as the northern parts of the Eastern Province.
According to the National Center for Meteorology, the surface wind activity on the Red Sea is expected to be southeasterly to southwesterly, shifting to southwesterly to northwesterly at night, with speeds ranging from 15 to 35 km/h on the northern part, reaching up to 50 km/h near the coast of Al Wajh. In the central and southern parts, winds will be southerly to southeasterly at speeds of 12 to 32 km/h, reaching 40 km/h towards the Bab Al Mandab strait.
The expected wave heights on the Red Sea will range from half a meter to one and a half meters on the northern part, with waves exceeding two meters off the coast of Al Wajh. The central and southern parts will see waves ranging from half a meter to one meter, with heights exceeding one and a half meters towards the Bab Al Mandab. The sea state will be light to moderate in the northern part, becoming rough towards Al Wajh, and light to moderate in the central and southern parts towards Bab Al Mandab.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are expected to be northwesterly to westerly at speeds of 12 to 32 km/h in the northern part, and 18 to 38 km/h in the central and southern parts. Wave heights will vary from half a meter to one meter in the northern part, and from one meter to one and a half meters in the central and southern parts. The sea state will be light in the northern part and moderate in the central and southern parts.
The National Center for Meteorology has also issued warnings regarding dust storms in parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh on this day. The phenomenon is expected to begin in Al-Ahsa, Al-Adid, and gradually extend across the Eastern Region starting at 10:00 AM, continuing until 6:00 PM. In Riyadh, the effects will be felt in Al-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Al-Majmaah, Shaqra, and Marat starting at 8:00 AM and lasting until 4:00 PM.
These weather conditions are expected to bring about reduced visibility ranging from 3 to 5 kilometers due to the active winds and dust.
