Revised Metro, Tram, and Parking Times Enhance Travel Convenience During Holy Month.

The Holy Month of Ramadan has begun, bringing with it significant adjustments to transportation and services across Dubai. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced new schedules for public transport, including the Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, and public bus services, to accommodate the routines of residents and visitors during this sacred time.

The changes take effect from Saturday, March 1st, coinciding with the first day of Ramadan. According to the RTA, the Dubai Metro will operate under the following revised timings:

  • Monday to Thursday: 5 AM to midnight
  • Friday: 5 AM to 1 AM (the following day)
  • Saturday: 5 AM to midnight
  • Sunday: 8 AM to midnight

Similarly, the Dubai Tram will run from:

  • Monday to Saturday: 6 AM to 1 AM (the following day)
  • Sunday: 9 AM to 1 AM (the following day)

Public bus services will also see adjusted hours; passengers are encouraged to check the S’hail App for specific timings. The marine transport schedule has likewise been adjusted, with details available on the RTA website.

To account for the lifestyle changes during Ramadan, the RTA has also revised paid parking hours across the city. The updated parking schedule will operate as follows:

  • Monday to Saturday:
  • Morning Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Evening Hours: 8:00 PM – midnight
Free Parking Times:
  • Between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM (Monday to Saturday)
  • Sundays will remain free all day, as usual.

Multi-level parking garages will maintain 24/7 access, ensuring standard charges apply. This change is intended to provide flexibility, allowing residents and visitors to maximize their evening outings during Ramadan, whether for family gatherings, night markets, or late-night prayers.

RTA has emphasized these timing adjustments aim to improve urban mobility and ease travel during this spiritually significant period. People are also advised to utilize the RTA app to check parking zones and confirm fees to avoid fines and plan their journeys around free parking hours effectively.

Alongside these transportation updates, the operating hours for Customer Happiness Centres will also shift for the Holy Month. While Smart Customer Happiness Centres located at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Kifaf, and RTA’s Head Office will operate 24/7, other locations will adjust their availability, ensuring continuous service to residents.

For those unfamiliar with the traditions surrounding Ramadan, it is heartily encouraged to explore the cultural practices, including partaking of iftars and suhoors with family and friends. The city is adorned with gorgeous Ramadan majlis and tents, providing opportunities for communal celebration.

Shopping opportunities abound during this festive time, as various markets offer both traditional and contemporary goods, alongside discounts and deals. Global Village, known for being one of the major family entertainment destinations, has extended its hours to cater to Ramadan visitors.

With Ramadan now underway, many residents and visitors are finding the adjustments to transportation and services helpful, enhancing their experience during this holy month.

Ramadan Mubarak to all, as Dubai embraces this special time with open arms and accommodating services!
