Drew McIntyre Signals Future Showdown With Logan Paul

Their intense rivalry heats up ahead of WrestleMania, as McIntyre reflects on Paul's journey and teases a powerful clash.

Drew McIntyre has publicly acknowledged the remarkable performance of Logan Paul in WWE, emphasizing his impressive journey from mainstream entertainment to the wrestling ring. Despite Paul’s notable achievements, including appearances in major events like the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, McIntyre hinted that their upcoming match might have a less favorable outcome for the social media star.

During a recent episode of the Untapped podcast, McIntyre lauded Paul’s capabilities, acknowledging, “He’s done phenomenal. We’ve had a lot of people try to transition to WWE from every sport and entertainment area you can imagine. It doesn’t always work out. I thought Ronda [Rousey] did a great job. Kurt Angle, former Olympic gold medalist, in wrestling he’s a Hall of Famer. But Logan, considering he’d done nothing at all basically from his first match, had been incredible.”

McIntyre elaborated on what sets Paul apart, stating, “It’s not just the athletic moves he can do. He’s a phenomenal athlete. It’s the in-between stuff in the ring. The hardest thing in our job to figure out is who you are because if you don’t know who you are and you don’t feel who you are, and it’s not real to you, it’s not gonna translate to the fans, and that’s what’s most important.” He emphasized that the emotional aspect and the ability to engage the audience make all the difference. “He knows exactly who he is, and you can see it in his eyes when he walks out,” McIntyre remarked, highlighting the importance of self-awareness and confidence in the wrestling business.

However, McIntyre didn’t shy away from issuing a warning. He confidently claimed, “Eventually, we’re going to have a match, and I’m going to chop him to pieces, and he’s going to be humbled. I’m going to start stringing sentences at him as I’m beating his ass, but he’s going to do it very well. He is doing very well.” This clear foreshadowing of their clash adds an intriguing layer to their rivalry, suggesting that while Paul has proven himself, McIntyre’s formidable presence looms large over their future encounter.

In another fascinating development, McIntyre recently interacted with The Rock at Elimination Chamber: Toronto, further igniting speculation regarding their relationship. This meeting came after a previous embrace backstage at the Netflix premiere of WWE RAW, emphasizing not just camaraderie but potential storylines for the future. McIntyre explained the significance of this bond, stating, “The Rock has actively looked out for me my whole career, since I was a kid.”

During the Elimination Chamber event on March 24, 2025, McIntyre and The Rock connected again. McIntyre told the Daily Star, “I feel like I should explain this because people don’t pay close attention to the stories. Why is Drew always talking about The Rock? I thought he hated The Bloodline? No—I hate people that wronged me personally. If somebody wronged me, I have an issue with them, just like anybody in real life.”

He continued, “The Rock has actively looked out for me my whole career, since I was a kid. He put me over in a TMZ interview when I wasn’t doing anything in particular that justified him saying I was going to be the next big star when I re-signed with the company.” This strong support from such a legendary figure in the wrestling world could play a pivotal role in McIntyre’s career trajectory.

McIntyre went on to suggest that significant developments could be on the horizon, hinting at some potential collaborations or narratives involving both him and The Rock. “We got a chance to catch up at the Chamber. We had a really good talk, and there are some things on the horizon—some big things in the world. We’ll see when it’s time,” McIntyre teased, leaving fans eager for what might unfold in the coming months.

This kind of buzz surrounding wrestlers like McIntyre and Paul is not uncommon as WWE gears up for its high-profile matches. With WrestleMania 41 on the horizon, the dynamics between past and current stars seem poised to become pivotal as WWE fans look for fresh storylines and engaging feuds. McIntyre’s comments about Paul and his interactions with The Rock reflect the continuing evolution of wrestling narratives where both legacy and ongoing talent play crucial roles.

As fans anticipate their encounter, McIntyre’s dual focus on respect for his peers and the competitive nature of wrestling outlines the path ahead. “He is doing very well,” McIntyre concedes about Paul, but with the assurance that his own capabilities will ultimately prevail in the ring. Whether through the acknowledgment of Paul’s skill or his brotherhood with The Rock, McIntyre continues to position himself as a core player in the ongoing saga of WWE.
