Fulham and Bournemouth extended their respective unbeaten streaks to seven games following an entertaining draw at Craven Cottage. Dango Ouattara rescued a point for Bournemouth as they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with fellow European hopefuls Fulham on Sunday.
The substitute scored an 89th-minute equaliser to secure a share of the spoils at Craven Cottage, where both sides extended their respective unbeaten runs to seven matches. Though Bournemouth controlled long periods of the first half, Raúl Jiménez headed Fulham in front five minutes before the break, though Evanilson's instinctive volley brought the visitors level within six minutes of the restart.
The hosts were on course for all three points when Harry Wilson nodded them back in front from Antonee Robinson's centre 18 minutes from time. But there was to be a late twist, with the ball breaking kindly for Ouattara, who neatly chipped Bernd Leno to save a point for the visitors. Andoni Iraola's team remain sixth in the Premier League table and one point ahead of Marco Silva's men, who stay eighth.
Fulham have now dropped 19 points from winning positions this season, the most in the Premier League. This total also matches their highest since the 2012-2013 season, during which they dropped 23 points. Despite this setback, the Cottagers managed to score two headed goals for the first time since December 2023, doubling their tally for this season.
Jiménez put Fulham in front with his 53rd Premier League goal, tying him as the joint-most scored by a Mexican player in the competition's history, alongside Javier Hernández. Once again, Bournemouth demonstrated their resilience, with Ouattara's equaliser marking their 10th goal scored in the final five minutes of league games this term—three more than any other side.
The game began dramatically as Fulham's Jiménez faced pressure for his early loose backpass, which put goalkeeper Bernd Leno under threat from Evanilson. Leno recovered well to deny the Bournemouth striker with an outstretched arm before the match truly ignited.
On the 10-minute mark, David Brooks forced Leno to produce a stunning save from the edge of the area. Fulham responded with chances from Wilson, but Kepa Arrizabalaga stood firm to parry. Leno continued to shine, making pivotal saves against Evanilson and Semenyo as Fulham absorbed early pressure.
The breakthrough came five minutes before half-time from Jiménez, who got on the end of Andreas Pereira's corner and headed home. Fulham seemed poised for more as Alex Iwobi aimed for the top corner but fell just short.
After the break, Evanilson found the net after capitalizing on a well-placed pass from James Hill, leveling the score shortly after Jiménez's opener. Fulham sought to respond as Illia Zabarnyi blocked Wilson's attempt at goal, followed by Kepa saving Timothy Castagne's volley.
With momentum shifting, Wilson regained the lead for Fulham, heading Antonee Robinson's cross home. Just when it seemed Fulham had clinched the victory, Bournemouth struck back again. A late charge from Ouattara proved too much for the defense, with him calmly chipping Leno to snatch the last-minute equalizer.
Both teams walked away with hard-fought points as Fulham reflected on yet another missed opportunity to consolidate their position amid challenges for European qualification.
