Double Elimination Shakes Up The Apprentice Competition

Liam Snellin and Mia Collins are fired as candidates vie for Lord Sugar's investment.

The competition for Lord Alan Sugar's investment intensified in the latest episode of The Apprentice, which aired on April 3, 2025. As the show reached its tenth thrilling week, the remaining candidates faced the daunting challenge of creating an eco-conscious fashion label. This task not only tested their creativity but also their ability to impress potential buyers at their own fashion shows.

With seven contenders left in the race, the atmosphere was charged with ambition and tension. The candidates were whisked away to the prestigious London College of Fashion, where they were divided into two teams. Jordan Dargan was appointed as project manager for Team Ascendancy, which included Liam Snellin, Anisa Khan, and Mia Collins. Meanwhile, Chisola Chitambala led the rival team, joined by Dean Franklin and Amber-Rose Badrudin.

The challenge required the teams to design collections and craft their respective brands, all while adhering to the principles of sustainability. As the day progressed, the pressure mounted, and the stakes became higher. Ultimately, it was Chisola's team that emerged victorious, impressing buyers and securing their places in the coveted final five.

However, for Team Ascendancy, the outcome was not as favorable. Despite having secured orders from more retailers, they sold fewer units of their niche products. This led to a tense boardroom showdown, where Lord Sugar had to make the difficult decision to fire two candidates.

In a shocking double elimination, Liam Snellin and Mia Collins were sent packing. Lord Sugar delivered the news with his characteristic bluntness, stating, "Liam, I can't really forgive anybody for not giving their all. So, it is with regret that you're fired." Following this, he turned to Mia, saying, "Regretfully, Mia, you were responsible overall for the disaster of these designs. Therefore, I'm sorry to say, but you're fired." The boardroom's atmosphere was thick with tension as the remaining candidates processed the news.

Liam, a workwear brand owner, reflected on his experience after being fired. He expressed gratitude for making it through all ten tasks, stating, "I completed all 10 tasks, that's what I wanted to do. I was very grateful for the opportunity and to make it as far as I did, and I left on an episode where I wasn't the failure of the task." However, he also shared his thoughts on Lord Sugar, suggesting that the business mogul might not have been the ideal partner for him. "When I got that late into the process, I felt like he didn't really have an understanding about clothing and the business that I'm in," Liam explained. "If someone can't get on board with my vision, then I don't want them to be my business partner."

Mia, on the other hand, expressed her disappointment at being eliminated. She admitted to having cried for days following her dismissal, emphasizing her passion for the competition and her aspirations in the fashion industry. Despite the setback, she remains hopeful about her future endeavors.

As the show progresses, the remaining candidates—Amber-Rose Badrudin, Anisa Khan, Chisola Chitambala, Jordan Dargan, and Dean Franklin—will face the rigorous interview stage next week. Each contestant is vying for the chance to secure Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment, which could significantly impact their business ventures.

Amber-Rose expressed her pride in reaching the final five, stating, "It's one of the proudest moments of my life, to be honest. I had kind of set a goal going into the process that I really wanted to make the interview stage, and I was laser-focused on getting there." Anisa, who had faced multiple losses throughout the competition, shared her fears of being fired but ultimately felt relieved and grateful to have made it this far.

Jordan, confident in his abilities, stated, "Going in I wasn’t going in there to even get to the final five, I’m going in to win. So I expected this from the minute I applied to be on the show, to be honest." His determination reflects the competitive spirit that drives the candidates as they navigate the challenges of the show.

As the competition heats up, viewers are left wondering who will ultimately secure Lord Sugar's investment and emerge victorious. With only a few episodes remaining, the tension is palpable, and the stakes have never been higher. The Apprentice continues to air on Thursdays at 9 PM on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.
