Doosan Bobcat Aims For Growth In European Market

Company showcases innovative technologies at BAUMA 2025 exhibition in Munich, Germany.

Doosan Bobcat is making significant strides in the European market, which it considers its second-largest home market after North America. Park Jeong-won, Chairman of Doosan Group, emphasized the company's commitment to leading the market with innovative technology during his visit to the '2025 BAUMA' construction machinery exhibition held in Munich, Germany, from April 7 to April 13, 2025.

At the exhibition, which is the largest of its kind in Europe, Doosan Bobcat showcased five new products, including 1-2 ton mini excavators, and a total of about 40 types of equipment that incorporate advanced electrification and automation technologies. Park stated, "The European market is the second home market supporting the sustainable growth of Doosan Bobcat after North America. We must lead the market with our unique innovative technology."

Doosan Bobcat has identified Europe as a critical market, generating 15-20% of its total sales from the region. Over the past four years, the company has achieved an impressive average annual growth rate of 8% in Europe, attributed to the introduction of new technologies and expansion of its product portfolio. The European small construction machinery market is estimated at 160,000 units annually, with excavators making up approximately half of that figure.

During the BAUMA exhibition, which occurs every three years, around 3,500 companies from 57 countries participated, attracting approximately 600,000 visitors. This event is a significant opportunity for industry players to connect and observe the latest trends and technologies in construction machinery.

At the Doosan Bobcat booth, a 'Demo Zone' was set up to allow visitors to experience the equipment firsthand. Demonstrations included remote control of unmanned equipment via smartphones, showcasing the company's commitment to innovation. Additionally, a virtual reality-based operation experience space was created to give attendees a taste of future technologies.

Among the new products presented were 12 models, including four new small excavator models and the 'TL25.60e,' an electric product designed for recycling industries. Park noted the importance of understanding how global competitors are preparing for the trends of electrification and automation, stating, "Having checked how global top-tier construction machinery companies are preparing for the trends of automation and electrification, we need to assess our technological gap and accelerate our pace. Let's strengthen our technology leadership with Bobcat's unique technology."

As the exhibition progressed, Park took time to visit various global companies' booths, focusing particularly on innovations related to electrification and unmanned equipment. He expressed keen interest in the advanced technologies being showcased by competitors, indicating that Doosan Bobcat is committed to staying ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.

The 2025 BAUMA exhibition has proven to be an excellent platform for Doosan Bobcat to reinforce its position in the European market. With a strong focus on innovation and technology, the company is poised to continue its growth trajectory in this vital region.

In summary, Doosan Bobcat's participation in BAUMA 2025 highlights its strategic focus on the European market, where it aims to leverage its innovative capabilities to capture more market share. As the construction machinery industry continues to evolve, the company's commitment to electrification and automation positions it well for future success.
