The legendary entertainer shares insights on his career and uses of AI technology during his performances.

Donny Osmond, the legendary entertainer, graced the stage once again as the final guest on the March 13, 2025 episode of The View, sharing not only his experience but also promoting his much-anticipated Las Vegas residency show. The episode provided countless fans, both on the panel and among the audience, with the chance to connect with the star. Sunny Hostin, co-host of the show, found herself starstruck and couldn’t contain her excitement, admitting her admiration for him and his sister Marie. To light up the moment, Osmond treated Hostin to an impromptu rendition of his iconic duet, "A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock 'N Roll.

During his appearance, Osmond took the opportunity to reminisce about his illustrious 63-year career. He explained how his new show captures the essence of his extensive experience: "I don’t want to sound like it’s a nostalgic show. It’s six decades of show business in 90 minutes, so it goes from the beginning to the current and everything in between. I don’t know how I fit all six decades in the 90 minutes, but I did!" This unique production promises to be compact yet rich, reflecting his dedication to celebrating his long-standing contribution to entertainment.

Interestingly, Osmond has incorporated cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology as part of his live performances, creating memorable and innovative moments keeping audiences engaged. He fondly reminisced about his early success with the hit song "Puppy Love," recalling, "I had a hit called ‘Puppy Love’ back when I was 14 years old… And about the middle of the show, I’m standing there, the curtain opens up and there’s an AI version of me at 14. And we sing ‘Puppy Love’ together." This performance not only captivated the audience but also showcased how technology can play a positive role in enhancing the theatrical experience.

The AI visualization added another layer to his performance, with him describing the experience as surreal. He emphasized, "I’m lookinginto the eyes of myself 53 years ago, talking to him and singing with him… There’s a lot of negative things you can go downthat path [with AI]. I look at the other glass, I look at the one that's half full. And what I did with AI is I created entertainment. I recreated myself." It's clear this technological advancement has opened new avenues for storytelling and performance, ensuring audiences remain engaged on multiple levels.

Osmond was also excited to announce the extension of his Las Vegas residency, which has been well-received, now set to continue until the end of the year. He noted the growth and diversification of his audience, remarking, "What I find interesting is — because I really do spend a lot of time on social media — I find the demographics of the audience have become so wide and varied. I got a lot of young kids, who know me from Mulan. So I findthat the audience isexpanding." It’s impressive to see how his ability to adapt and welcome different generations has helped sustain his career over the decades.

While discussing the notions of retirement, Osmond was candid. "I mean, let’s be honest, it’s inevitable… to retire. I love what I do. I really enjoy it. I’ve got agreat job. My job is to make people happy. How can you complain aboutthat? It’s a lot of work, and I put 100 percentinto my show, but I still havea lot of fuelin this body,” he explained. His dedication remains strong, stating, "And because I’ve raised the bar so high for myself, the daythat I can’t reachthat bar and give 100 and 110 percent on stage is the daythe curtain will not go up. It’s not around thecorner, but it’s inevitable." This mindset demonstrates his lifelong commitment to his craft and audience, promising to continue entertaining until he can no longer meet the high standards he sets for himself.

Osmond's legacy continues to grow, and his innovations and passion give audiences much to look forward to. Donny Osmond's Las Vegas show, now carrying the allure of AI's creative possibilities alongside the rich history of his career, is bound to be memorable for many audiences to come.
