Former Miss Switzerland Dominique Rinderknecht recently tied the knot with her fiancé Drew Gage during a heartfelt ceremony held at Oaklands Farm, located approximately 90 kilometers from Cape Town, South Africa. The couple's intimate wedding was attended by only 19 guests, including family members who traveled from Switzerland and South Africa.
The enchanting event took place last Saturday and was filled with emotions, particularly as Rinderknecht, now 35, revealed during the celebration: "I've never been so happy." Accompanied by her parents Helen Rinderknecht and Christian Fierz, the bride walked gracefully down the flower-decorated aisle to join her groom, Gage, 33, who expressed how breathtaking the moment was. "It took my breath away. I felt like the happiest person on Earth," he recalled.
The ceremony was officiated by Gage's sister Kendal, marking the start of a new chapter for the couple, now officially known as Dominique Rinderknecht-Gage. One of the most touching aspects of their wedding was the inclusive presence of their daughter, as Rinderknecht also announced she is four months pregnant, expecting a baby girl. "That our daughter was part of the wedding, even at such a small size, was particularly moving," said Gage.
Rinderknecht chose to wear a stunning satin wedding dress by the Swiss label Mourjjan, crafted by Lebanese designer Roland G. Rahal. She emphasized the uniqueness of her gown, sharing, "The dress is dreamy and fits perfectly with the gold wedding rings I crafted myself." Gage complemented his attire with Scottish tartan trousers to honor his heritage.
Despite the soaring temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, the couple remained focused on their love and commitment. Rinderknecht spoke warmly of the setting, saying it was "magical," and expressed gratitude for the shared experience with their close family members, including Rinderknecht's 91-year-old grandmother.
Following their private wedding, the newlyweds decided to forego the traditional honeymoon and opted instead for special family time, enjoying the beautiful surroundings of South Africa. Mentioning their future plans, Rinderknecht stated, "We plan to have another wedding celebration about one and a half years from now, inviting all our friends and family, and our daughter will be part of the festivities too. It will be another unforgettable evening!"
Their wedding dinner featured locally sourced, seasonal dishes, emphasizing both rustic flair and cultural richness. Notable menu items included Caprese salad, lamb ragout, and grilled vegetables, culminating with the highlight of the evening—a beautifully crafted fruit cake with tahini icing, celebrated by all the attendees.
Rinderknecht joyfully described her excitement for the next phase of their lives as they prepare for parenthood. She plans to raise her daughter speaking both Swiss German and English, and joked about receiving help learning Swiss German from her daughter. The couple is committed to adapting their family life around Gage's career as a pilot, ensuring they remain together, no matter where life leads them.
With love and anticipation, Rinderknecht looks forward to the joys of family life with Gage and their unborn child. She expressed her belief: "Wherever life takes us as a family, as long as we are together, that's what matters most."
