Walt Disney Japan Co., Ltd. has announced the grand opening of the 'Disney Store Okayama Aeon Mall Store' on April 22, 2025, located within Aeon Mall Okayama in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture. This is the company's first permanent store in Okayama Prefecture in eight years, and it promises to deliver an enchanting experience for Disney fans.
The store, designed to evoke the magic of a storybook brought to life, features a warm atmosphere with a stunning entrance showcasing a statue of Mickey Mouse dressed as the 'Apprentice Sorcerer'. Inside, shoppers will find an array of Disney character art created by the legendary animators known as the 'Nine Old Men', alongside exciting photo spots featuring plush toy representations of beloved characters like Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh.
With around 1,200 different items available for purchase, the store will include original Disney Store characters such as 'UniBEARsity', 'UniBestiez', and the 'Urupochachans', in addition to lifestyle goods, sweets, apparel, and collaborative products with sought-after brands.
In celebration of the grand opening, special limited-edition items will be available, inspired by the Japanese folklore hero, Momotaro. These unique plush toys include Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck dressed in traditional attire, complete with Mickey wearing a headband and jacket, and Donald styled as a demon with striped pants and a club.
The store will also host a promotional campaign offering an original tote bag designed exclusively for the Okayama Aeon Mall store for customers who spend 5,000 yen (including tax) or more on the grand opening day. Additionally, for those visiting the store, exclusive shop cards will be distributed upon request.
Furthermore, guests will enjoy a 'Disney Store Club' point multiplier campaign that rewards shoppers with five times the usual points on purchases made at the store, valid until April 24, 2025.
To ensure a smooth experience on the opening day, customers are required to make reservations via the Disney Store Club app. The store will operate from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, allowing ample time for guests to explore and shop within its magical space.
