Digital School Observatory Survey Open Until April 28

Schools are encouraged to participate in the survey to enhance digital resources and educational quality.

The survey for the Digital School Observatory for the academic year 2024/25 is currently open and will remain accessible until April 28, 2025. This initiative, aimed at assessing the educational, technological, and innovative advancements within the school system, is crucial for planning interventions to enhance the digitalization of teaching and administrative processes in schools.

According to a note from the Ministry of Education dated March 31, 2025, operational guidelines have been provided for schools to facilitate their participation in this survey. The questionnaire was made available on February 17, 2025, and schools are encouraged to complete it by the deadline.

Accessing the survey is straightforward. Schools can navigate to the SIDI platform (the Integrated Information System for Education) and follow the path: Applications SIDI > Surveys > Digital School Observatory. The Ministry emphasizes that the submission of the completed questionnaire is exclusively reserved for the School Director. Once the submission button is pressed, no modifications can be made until the next survey period.

To aid schools in the completion process, a preview of the questionnaire is available on the platform. This can be accessed by selecting: Acquire Survey > View > Export to PDF. Additionally, schools can export data from the previous year's survey to streamline the current questionnaire's completion.

In terms of staffing, schools have the autonomy to profile personnel, excluding the School Director and the DSGA, who have already been profiled by the central administration. The profiling process involves accessing SIDI > User Management > SIDI User Management > Profiling > Profile Selection, where administrators can choose the appropriate profiles for their staff.

Support for schools is readily available. For any issues encountered during the survey process, schools can reach out to Natalia Morelli at 06-58493946 or Laura Vettraino at 06-58493951. Alternatively, requests can be submitted through the 'Your Requests' section on the PNSD platform.

The importance of participating in this survey cannot be overstated. The information collected will be displayed on Scuola in Chiaro, specifically in the Services and Activities section. This data will cover critical aspects such as the availability of technological and digital resources for teaching, connectivity points, classroom setups (including interactive whiteboards and monitors), available devices (like computers and tablets), and overall learning environments.

Failure to complete the questionnaire will result in outdated or missing information, which will not be available for families during the school enrollment phase. This could potentially hinder families' ability to make informed decisions about their children's education, making it imperative for schools to engage fully in this initiative.

In summary, the Digital School Observatory survey is a vital tool for assessing and improving the technological landscape of schools in Italy. With the deadline approaching, school administrators are urged to ensure that their institutions are represented accurately in this important survey.
