Deliveroo Expands Partnerships And Delivery Services Across The UK

New alliances with Co-op and pet stores highlight growing convenience for consumers.

Deliveroo is making waves with its recent expansion efforts, bringing joy to takeaway lovers and convenience seekers alike. With the launch of its service in Alresford this January, the food delivery giant is opening the doors for residents to enjoy delicious meals delivered right to their doorsteps. This new service features options from popular national brands like Five Guys, Sainsbury’s, and local favorites such as Lucky Lychee and Five Boroughs Pizza.

According to Alex Withington, regional director for South England & Wales at Deliveroo, the company is thrilled to support hospitality and retail businesses by enhancing convenience for customers. He shared, “We are excited to extend our delivery service to New Alresford, supporting hospitality and retail businesses in the area. We know our customers value convenience, whether they’re ordering a meal at home or using our service for mid-week grocery top-ups.”

But that's not all for Deliveroo. The company recently announced its partnership with Gladwells Pet and Country Stores, which launched on February 10, 2025, allowing customers to order pet food and accessories via the app. Six branches are now participating, including locations in Copdock, Bury St Edmunds, Rayleigh, Rushden, Peterborough, and Margate. Darrel Strachan, business development director at Gladwells, noted, “We have recognized the opportunity to provide fast, same-day delivery of pet food and accessories to customers near our stores and we’ve partnered with Deliveroo to offer this service.”

Expanding the service range even more, Co-op has entered the scene, offering member price benefits for orders made through Deliveroo, aligning prices with those available in stores. Customers can access up to 28% savings on nearly 100 key lines and everyday essentials, thanks to their membership. Chris Conway, Co-op’s eCommerce Director, emphasized the importance of this strategy: “Growing and innovativing our online channels is a fundamental part of our convenience approach. Our members are at the very heart of our business.”

Suzy McClintock, VP of new verticals at Deliveroo, added, “At Deliveroo, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to offer our customers...” stressing the importance of providing value through partnership.

This strategic alliance with Co-op not only benefits customers but also positions Co-op to reach its membership goal of 8 million by 2030, enhancing its outreach through collaboration with Deliveroo's logistics network. With around 1,300 Co-op stores already acting as local fulfillment hubs for online orders through Deliveroo, it’s clear this partnership is set to thrive.

Deliveroo's thoughtful expansions reflect its commitment to adapting to consumer needs for convenience and accessibility. With partnerships spanning grocery supplies, fast food deliveries, and pet care, it seems Deliveroo is poised to redefine delivery services across various sectors, making life easier for customers everywhere.
