Delhi International Airport, also known as Indira Gandhi International Airport, has achieved a monumental milestone by becoming the first airport in India to connect 150 destinations globally. This achievement, celebrated with the launch of direct flights by Thai AirAsia X from Delhi to Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK), marks a significant enhancement to India’s aviation infrastructure and connectivity.
The new Bangkok route is initially scheduled to operate twice weekly, utilizing Airbus A330 aircraft, with plans to increase the frequency to four flights per week by mid-January 2025. Notably, 88% of India’s long-haul destinations are successfully linked through Delhi, which has facilitated travel for around 4 million domestic passengers to international destinations each year.

For comparison, Mumbai Airport is connected to approximately 120 destinations and Bengaluru Airport, having achieved over 100 connections, follows closely.
