CUET UG 2025 Exams Set To Begin Amid Tensions

Admit cards expected soon as students request postponement due to geopolitical concerns

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is gearing up for the upcoming Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025, with exams scheduled to take place from May 15 to May 31, 2025. As anticipation builds, candidates are eagerly awaiting the release of their admit cards, which are expected to be available this week.

With the CUET UG 2025 set to commence on May 13, candidates can download their admit cards by visiting the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in. To access their hall tickets, they will need to log in using their application numbers and dates of birth. The admit card is a crucial document, as entry to the examination hall will not be permitted without it.

On May 7, 2025, the NTA released the exam city intimation slips, allowing candidates to know their designated examination cities. For those who encounter discrepancies on their admit cards, the NTA has set up a helpline available from 10 AM to 5 PM for immediate assistance. Candidates should note that they will be allowed to appear for the exam with the already downloaded admit card, even if discrepancies are present, with the agency committing to rectify any errors later.

This year's CUET UG will be conducted in a hybrid mode, combining both Computer-Based Test (CBT) and pen-and-paper formats, depending on the subject. A total of 37 subjects will be available for examination, and each paper will last for 60 minutes. The examination will also be offered in 13 Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, and more, making it accessible to a wider range of students.

Amid the preparations, the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) president, Ronak Khatri, has raised concerns regarding the current geopolitical situation, particularly tensions between India and Pakistan. On May 9, 2025, Khatri appealed to the university administration to postpone the examinations set to begin on May 13. He expressed that the ongoing situation has created panic among students and their families, with many requesting their return home. In response, DUSU has launched two helpline numbers—73780 22365 and 62686 85067—to assist students with accommodation, medical support, and examination-related queries.

The CUET UG 2025 is a significant examination, with over 13.5 lakh students registered to compete for admission into prestigious institutions such as Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and Banaras Hindu University, among others. The examination will take place across 300 cities at 324 designated test centers nationwide, ensuring that students from diverse regions can participate.

As the exam date approaches, candidates are advised to keep an eye on the NTA's official website and its Twitter handle for the latest updates regarding the admit cards and any potential changes to the schedule. Students are encouraged to prepare thoroughly, focusing on the subjects they have chosen while also staying informed about current affairs, as this will aid them in the examination.

To download their CUET UG 2025 admit cards, candidates should follow these steps: visit the official website at cuet.nta.nic.in, click on the link for the admit card, enter the required login details, and download the card for future reference. The admit card will contain essential information, including the examination center's name, test date, shift timings, and instructions, along with a list of acceptable photo identity proofs required for verification.

Students must also ensure that they carry a printed copy of their CUET UG 2025 admit card to the exam center, along with a valid photo ID such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or driver's license. Additionally, candidates should bring two passport-sized photographs for biometric screening at the center.

The NTA has emphasized the importance of the admit card, reiterating that it is mandatory for entry into the examination center. Candidates are reminded to verify all details on their admit cards and to contact the helpline at 011-40759000 or email [email protected] in case of any discrepancies.

With the CUET UG 2025 exams fast approaching, students are urged to remain vigilant and proactive in their preparations. This examination serves as a gateway to higher education and can significantly impact their academic futures. As the NTA finalizes the details, candidates are hopeful for a smooth and successful examination period.
