CUET PG 2025: Last Minute Tips For Success

With just one week left, students can optimize their study strategy to ace the entrance exam.

In a race against time, students across India are embarking on preparations for the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses, known as CUET PG 2025. The exam commenced on March 13 and will run until April 1, 2025, leaving just a week for candidates to sharpen their skills and enhance their knowledge.

The CUET PG exam is critical for gaining admission into various postgraduate courses at universities and colleges nationwide. Candidates eager to succeed in this important examination must adopt smart strategies for effective preparation, especially given the limited time frame.

As the clock ticks, students are encouraged to prioritize high-scoring topics that appear frequently in past papers. Utilizing previous years' question papers and taking mock tests are essential components of an effective study plan. A clear understanding of the structured exam pattern will also empower students as they map out their study routine.

The preparation is crucial, given that only 10.26 lakh students completed the payment process for registration by the original closing date of March 22. However, recognizing the reduced interest in applications compared to the previous year's 13.48 lakh unique registrations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) extended the application deadline until March 24, 2025. Through this move, they acknowledge the demand from students for extra time to finalize their applications.

To prepare efficiently for CUET PG in just seven days, an intensive study guide has been proposed:

Day 1: Analyze Exam Pattern and Syllabus – Devote two hours in the morning to downloading the syllabus and past question papers from the NTA website. Understanding that the exam includes 25 general aptitude questions (Part A) and 75 subject-specific questions (Part B) is paramount.

Afternoon should be spent (three hours) diving into previous years' papers to identify frequently tested topics, helping students assess their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, in two hours during the evening, revision of basic math formulas and key facts in general knowledge can consolidate knowledge.

Day 2: Focus on General Aptitude (Part A) – The morning should consist of intensive math practice, including percentages, profit and loss, and ratios. Afternoon activities can include grammar and vocabulary building sessions in either English or Hindi, incorporating two or three reading passages. Lastly, during the evening, current affairs and static general knowledge should round up learning.

Days 3-4: Subject-Specific Preparation (Part B) – Students should spend the mornings focusing on vital topics that relate to their undergraduate studies, such as data structures or medieval Indian history, followed by problem-solving practice in the afternoon and revision in the evening.

Day 5: Mock Tests – Mock tests are essential. A full-length practice test in the morning will simulate exam conditions, while afternoon analysis of mistakes will facilitate understanding of areas for improvement.

Day 6: Revision and Practice – Continuous revision of notes and formulas will enhance memory retention during preparation. Following this, students should build confidence by backtracking on previously solved questions from past papers.

Day 7: Final Revision and Relaxation – Important formulas and general knowledge facts need to be revisited in the morning. Students are advised to take precautions, such as confirming identification requirements for the exam day and ensuring their admit cards are ready.

This systematic, phased approach will help students focus on effective study habits as the exam day approaches. It is also noteworthy that the CUET UG exam scheduled to occur from May 8, 2025, to June 1, 2025, has seen registrations currently standing at 12.69 lakh, but with inadequacies in completion, the NTA anticipated fewer applications compared to last year's total of 13.47 lakh unique registrations.

If you're one of the aspiring candidates, now is the time to act swiftly and smartly to maximize your chances of success!
