The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the admit cards for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December Examination 2025, which will be conducted from February 28 to March 2, 2025. This announcement is eagerly awaited by thousands of candidates who have registered for the exam, as the admit card is mandatory for entry to the examination hall.
Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in, using their application number and date of birth. The NTA strongly advises candidates to download their admit cards well before the exam date to avoid any last-minute hassles with technical glitches.
The upcoming CSIR NET exam aims to identify qualified candidates for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), Assistant Professor roles, and Ph.D. program admissions across various Indian universities. The examination will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT), allowing for streamlined administration and faster evaluation.
According to the NTA, the admit card contains important details, including the candidate's name, roll number, photograph, exam dates, timings, and exam centre address. "Candidates are allowed to download their admit card till the exam date. It is advised to download it before the exam date to avoid last-minute technical glitches," reported the NTA.
The exam schedule is set as follows: on February 28, exams will be held for Mathematical Sciences and Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences from 9 AM to 12 PM, with the same subjects having their second shift from 3 PM to 6 PM. On March 1, Life Sciences will be tested across two shifts, followed by Physical Sciences on March 2.
Each subject carries different numbers of questions and marks, and it is important for candidates to be aware of the negative marking policy, which involves deducting marks for incorrect answers, making preparation even more rigorous.
Candidates are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary items with them on exam day, including the printed admit card, a valid photo ID (such as Aadhar Card, PAN card, or passport), and a passport-sized photograph identical to the one submitted during the application process. It is also recommended to bring along basic necessities such as sugar tablets or fruits for candidates who are diabetic.
Conversely, there are several items and behaviors strictly disallowed during the exam. Electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatches are strictly prohibited, as are study materials of any kind. Candidates should also refrain from any actions deemed inappropriate by examiners, as these could lead to disqualification.
The admit card not only serves as the entry ticket but also contains instructions for candidates, which should be followed diligently. Checking all information on the admit card for accuracy is important, and any discrepancies must be reported to the NTA immediately through their official helpline.
The CSIR NET is not just another exam; it provides candidates with certificates of eligibility valid for their lifetime, marking significant milestones for those pursuing academic and professional advancements.
With the exam just around the corner, the NTA suggests candidates utilize this time wisely for study and revision to succeed. Good luck to all the candidates as they prepare to take on this significant academic challenge!
