Crew Clothing To Open Its First Greater Manchester Store

The new Altrincham shop will feature exclusive promotions and create local jobs.

A top British clothing brand, Crew Clothing, is set to make its debut in Greater Manchester with the opening of its first ever store in the region on April 10, 2025. This new retail location will bring Crew's established style and high-quality menswear and womenswear to the vibrant Stamford Quarter in Altrincham, nestled in a 1200 sqft space previously occupied by the Altrincham FC store.

Founded in 1993, Crew Clothing has established itself as a prominent fashion label, offering an array of styles that range from heritage rugby shirts to relaxed tailoring and classic Breton stripes. Initially starting its journey in a windsurfing shop in Salcombe, Devon, Crew has since grown into a beloved brand with a loyal customer base. Now, the company is expanding its presence to Greater Manchester, with local officials expressing enthusiasm for the new addition.

To celebrate the opening, Crew Clothing has planned a series of exciting promotions for attendees. The first twenty customers through the door will receive gift cards, with one lucky shopper winning a £100 gift card. Additionally, customers spending over £75 will receive a gift with their purchase, making the opening a unique shopping experience. Further enhancing the festive atmosphere, there will be a 'sip while you shop' feature, courtesy of the English sparkling wine company, Nyetimber.

Naomi Parry, Head of Marketing at Crew Clothing, commented, "It’s an exciting time for the brand as we continue to expand our retail offering, now with the addition of our Stamford Quarter store. We’re excited to welcome new and existing fans of Crew through the doors, and those customers that might have visited us at our nearby Wilmslow store." This anticipation highlights the brand's eagerness to connect with the local community and increase its customer base.

The establishment of this store is set to generate ten new jobs within the area, adding to the local economy and contributing to the already bustling retail environment of the Stamford Quarter. Bruntwood’s Head of Retail & Leisure, James Tootle, stated, "Crew Clothing is the perfect addition to the Stamford Quarter and its vibrant mix of retailers. It will be its first foray into Greater Manchester, demonstrating the importance of the area as a leading retail destination for a wide range of customers."

Moreover, this addition is seen as a reflection of Altrincham's position as a growing shopping destination. Cllr Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, noted, "It’s great news that Crew Clothing’s first Greater Manchester store will be here in the Stamford Quarter, among a host of other great brands and independent stores. This addition to the town’s retail scene reflects Altrincham’s growing status as a quality shopping destination."

Earlier this year, Crew Clothing announced plans to further invest in the high street with the goal of opening at least 20 new stores in 2025. This ambitious expansion is attributed to an impressive 45% surge in sales during the two weeks leading up to Christmas, alongside a notable 22% increase in store sales. Last year, the brand opened 15 new locations across the UK.

As Crew Clothing approaches the launch date of its Altrincham store, excitement is building both among the company's leadership and potential customers. The store promises a diverse range of products from the latest summer 2025 collection, appealing to fashion-conscious shoppers eager to explore the brand's fresh offerings. The coming weeks will undoubtedly build anticipation as Altrincham gears up to welcome Crew's fashion and lifestyle offerings to its retail mix.

Overall, the opening heralds not only the growth of Crew Clothing but also reflects a pivotal moment for Altrincham and its local retail landscape. As consumers flock to this new location, it marks a new chapter for both the brand and the community, where quality fashion meets local charm.
