Couple Finds Dream Home In Papendrecht Without Seeing It

Olivier and Leontine successfully navigate house hunting challenges with their growing family.

PAPENDRECHT - On Monday evening, March 24, 2025, Olivier (37) and Leontine (41) were featured on the program 'Kopen zonder kijken' on RTL4 after finding their dream house in Papendrecht. The family, including their four-year-old daughter and their one-year-old triplets, has now settled in their new home.

Previously, they lived in a rental property in Rosmalen, but it no longer met their growing family’s needs. With a family of five, space had become a concern, leading to a housing search that would take them to Papendrecht. Here, they quickly found their footing, with Olivier noting how they have adjusted due to the friendly atmosphere in their new neighborhood. “It’s nice to have our own rooms now, rather than sharing one,” he shared, highlighting the newfound peace that space brings.

Olivier and Leontine had a clear vision of their new home: they desired at least four bedrooms, an open kitchen, a child-friendly neighborhood, and a garden. Their initial budget was set at €375,000 but was adjusted upwards to €400,000 as the search progressed.

Thanks to the consignment clock's influence on the process, new opportunities emerged including locations like Gorinchem and Oosterhout. Despite initial hesitations, the couple persevered and eventually narrowed their choices down to two properties: one in Ridderkerk and the other in Papendrecht.

In keeping with the format of 'Kopen zonder kijken,' the couple signed for the Papendrecht house without seeing it first, relying on the program’s expertise. The home was priced at €355,000, which allowed them a budget of €45,000 for necessary renovations.

After signing the contract, Olivier and Leontine had a three-day deliberation period to decide whether to go through with the purchase. Although they experienced fleeting doubts, they ultimately trusted that the house would meet their expectations. Olivier said, “We knew it was a big risk, but we felt good about it.”

Once the renovations were completed, the couple was pleasantly surprised by the results. The changes transformed the property into their dream home, perfectly aligning with their desires. They felt at home immediately, relieved and happy with the leap of faith they had taken. Their residence in the Westpolder area has proven to be an ideal location for their family.

In the end, Olivier and Leontine have fully settled into their new home and are delighted with their decision. The experience of buying a house without seeing it was nerve-wracking initially, but the outcome was predominantly what they had hoped for: a wonderful home complete with a beautiful kitchen and a spacious living area, along with a delightful room for the triplets.
