Next week's episodes of Coronation Street promise to be filled with drama on the famous cobbles. Viewers will remember that scaffolder Theo Silverton, portrayed by James Cartwright, joined the ITV soap last month and quickly developed a connection with Todd Grimshaw. Despite initially denying his sexuality and asking Todd to back off, Todd was left puzzled when he discovered that the man he'd been speaking to on a dating app was none other than Theo.
After confessing his attraction to Todd, the pair shared a passionate kiss before heading upstairs. They spent the afternoon together, but Theo, who confessed his life is complex, later left Todd devastated by insisting their encounter was a one-time thing. In recent episodes, Todd was taken aback when Theo showed up at Shuttleworths to plan a funeral for his mother-in-law with his wife Danielle. Theo tried to clarify his family situation, revealing he had been married for 19 years but had questioned his sexuality since his teenage years.
On Monday's episode, Todd was further shocked when Theo and Danielle arrived at the undertakers with their teenage son and daughter. Later this week, Todd tells Theo that while he understands he can't make any commitments, he genuinely likes him. By the end of the week, Todd deceives Danielle by pretending that he and Sarah Platt are in a relationship, reports Leicestershire Live.
Later, Theo joins Danielle at the bistro, where she insists they join Todd and Sarah at their table. The situation escalates when Todd kisses Sarah on the lips to provoke Theo, leaving Sarah embarrassed by the unfolding drama. In next week's episodes, the plot thickens as Danielle informs George Shuttleworth about Sarah's flirtatious behaviour with Kit Green while being involved with Todd. George, finding the situation amusing, corrects Danielle about Todd's sexuality.
Later, an irate Danielle sees Sarah comforting Theo with a friendly arm around him. Misinterpreting the situation, she confronts Sarah and Todd in the cafe, accusing Sarah of having an affair with Theo. Will Sarah be able to navigate this predicament without revealing the truth?
As the week progresses, a distressed Theo tells Todd that he has ruined his family and needs to rectify the situation. Concurrently, Danielle spots Sarah in the cafe and demands to know Theo's whereabouts. A frustrated Sarah advises Danielle to talk to Todd instead. Later, at the factory, Theo packs up his tools and suggests to Todd that it would be best if they kept their distance from now on.
