Consumers Energy is set to temporarily cut electrical power to 2,347 customers in Hesperia as part of planned upgrades aimed at enhancing service reliability. This necessary shutdown will take place from 10 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, until as late as 6 a.m. the following morning, Saturday, March 22.
Chris Laird, the vice president of electric distribution for Consumers Energy, emphasized the importance of the coordinated efforts with Wolverine Power Cooperative, stating, "We appreciate the patience of our customers and the coordination with Wolverine Power Cooperative for this important work. We understand at this time, such work can be an inconvenience, but it’s pivotal to reducing the number and length of power outages through our Reliability Roadmap."
The scheduled outage area will cover the region south of 10 Mile Road, west of North Baldwin Avenue, and north of McKinley Road. Consumers Energy routinely selects overnight hours for such maintenance work to minimize disruptions for residents and businesses, allowing most customers to avoid interruptions during their active hours.
Should the work need to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, a backup date is set for Friday, March 28, 2025, also from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025.
Customers who may have questions or concerns about the upcoming outage are encouraged to contact Consumers Energy directly at 1-800-477-5050 for assistance.
