Comunidade MAM Empowers Women Entrepreneurs Through Training

The immersive program focuses on sales, financial mindset, and mental health for women in business.

On March 29, 2025, the Comunidade MAM, led by psychotherapist Paula Nunes, hosted an immersive training program focused on three essential pillars for the success of women entrepreneurs: sales, financial mindset, and mental health. This event brought together specialists who shared practical strategies and deep reflections on unlocking female potential in the marketplace and achieving a prosperous journey.

The program kicked off with a keynote address titled “The Invisible Weight: How Emotional Blockages Stifle Your Prosperity,” delivered by Nunes herself. She illuminated the limiting beliefs and emotional patterns that hinder financial and professional growth. Following this, Iasmine Fernandes presented on the topic of sales in her talk “Sales Without Blockages,” where she introduced strategies to overcome emotional barriers and optimize business results.

Val Benvindo contributed to the discussions with her talk “The Power of Environment in the Journey to Prosperity,” emphasizing the influence of connections and surroundings in building a successful trajectory. Nunes also led a session titled “The Power of the Feminine: Free Your Energy to Unlock Prosperity,” where she discussed how the harmony between masculine and feminine energies can impact both business and personal life.

A panel discussion titled “Female Financial Mindset: How to Strengthen Your Relationship with Money” featured prominent figures such as Thaise Fiaes (founder of Casa Fiaes), Helena Matta (physician and entrepreneur), and Jessica Owadokum (lawyer and entrepreneur). The guests shared their experiences and addressed challenges and pathways to achieving greater financial autonomy and security.

Joemia Ribeiro presented “Faith and Prosperity: The Power of the Energy You Emit,” highlighting spirituality as a crucial factor in attracting abundance. Closing the event, Paula Nunes delivered a powerful lecture entitled “Nobody Cares About You,” challenging participants to take charge of their own journeys and break free from patterns of self-sabotage.

The event also provided a strategic networking opportunity, strengthening connections and fostering new opportunities for the attending businesswomen. For Nunes, the Comunidade MAM represents more than just an event; it is a movement that inspires, transforms, and connects women who aspire to thrive with balance and security.

In addition to the Comunidade MAM's initiatives, throughout March 2025, the Prefeitura de Salvador carried out a series of actions aimed at empowering women, in honor of International Women's Day celebrated on March 8. Among the highlights was the Mulheres no Volante project, which aims to train women to work as drivers in the city’s public transport system. This initiative was recognized at the SmartCity Expo Curitiba Brazilian Awards 2025, the largest intelligent cities event in Brazil.

Fernanda Lordêlo, head of the Secretary of Policies for Women, Childhood, and Youth (SPMJ), spoke about these initiatives: “We concluded March after several actions focused on gender policies in the municipality of Salvador. These actions were aimed at employability, facilitating women's entry into the job market, including the award-winning Mulheres no Volante project that started in 2022.”

In addition to employment initiatives, the SPMJ has focused on women's health, organizing three Women’s Caravans and activities centered around the Women’s Reference Centers (CRAM). Lordêlo emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating, “It has been an extremely rich month for building dialogue and articulating public policies that effectively meet our women’s needs.”

The Casa da Mulher Brasileira (CMB), inaugurated in December 2024, has become a reference point for assisting and strengthening the rights of women victims of violence. From December 2023 to November 2024, the CMB recorded 12,010 attendances, providing 24-hour support for women throughout the capital. The center offers a multidisciplinary approach, integrating various specialized services such as psychosocial support, legal assistance, and economic autonomy promotion.

The CRAM, which has been operational for 19 years, also reported a significant increase in attendance, with 19,140 services provided in 2024, a staggering 292% increase from 4,876 in 2019. The CMB and CRAM work collaboratively to ensure victims receive comprehensive care without the need for displacement, housing various services under one roof.

Moreover, the SPMJ has implemented the Núcleo de Enfrentamento e Prevenção ao Feminicídio (NEF), which focuses on educating and rehabilitating men who have committed violence against women. Since its inception in 2021, the NEF has served 482 men under protective measures, aiming to prevent recidivism. Notably, only two cases of recidivism have been recorded since the program began.

To enhance financial independence among women, the SPMJ has initiated several training and qualification programs, including Marias na Construção and Mulheres no Volante. The Marias na Construção program, launched in 2019 in partnership with SENAI Bahia, has provided 2,550 training slots from 2022 to 2024, prioritizing women who are victims of domestic violence and those in vulnerable situations.

Additionally, the Crochêfeira event held from January 20 to February 1, 2025, featured 12 women showcasing their handmade crochet products, further promoting female entrepreneurship. The Mulher em Foco program, in collaboration with various organizations, has trained 1,276 women last year alone, contributing to the empowerment of women in the workforce.

As part of broader efforts, the Prefeitura de Salvador has reported a 55% reduction in the number of feminicides from 2023 to 2024, according to data from the Bahia Secretary of Public Security. This significant decrease highlights the impact of the various initiatives aimed at empowering women and combating gender-based violence.

Through these comprehensive programs and initiatives, the Prefeitura de Salvador and the Comunidade MAM are working tirelessly to create a supportive environment for women, fostering autonomy, security, and prosperity in their lives.
