On St. Nicholas Day, the community of Novoselsky, Crimea, came together to celebrate and support young volunteers assisting military personnel. The festive occasion, organized by the charity fund "From Heart to Heart," featured various activities for children who dedicate their efforts to aid military operations.
The event not only honored the children’s hard work—such as weaving nets and preparing care packages for soldiers—but also served as a heartwarming affirmation of community spirit. Attending the festivities were local officials, including the head of the Novoselsky village administration, Vladimir Krasilynik, and local deputies Emir Arabsky and Vanui Vanyan. They addressed the young volunteers, expressing gratitude for their commitment and passion for aiding the nation.
"Words of appreciation for the young volunteers were voiced by Alla Nedelko, director of the charity fund, who presented her assistants with letters of gratitude during the event. She emphasized the importance of recognizing children who demonstrate love for their homeland," she said. The celebration included games and gifts, ensuring the children enjoyed the day, drawing smiles across their faces.
On the same day, another initiative to bring joy took place with the collaboration of State Council Deputy Zhanna Khutorenko and the chairman of the Black Sea district council, Alexey Shipitsyn. Together, they handed out gifts to families of military personnel currently on leave or recovering from injuries, as well as to demobilized soldiers. This charity was organized by the philanthropic foundation “Good for Everyone.”
"Small gifts for the New Year's table and sweets for children are the least we can do for our defenders who secure the safety and sovereignty of our state. We must not overlook the families of soldiers. Issues related to the assistance of soldiers and their families are now under special priority control," Khutorenko shared during the distribution event.
The efforts to recognize and support both volunteers and military families demonstrate the community’s commitment to honoring those who sacrifice for the country. Volunteering has become more than just service; it reflects the spirit of solidarity and shared responsibility among citizens.
This community engagement emphasizes the importance of providing moral and emotional support to families during festive times, ensuring they feel connected and appreciated. Khutorenko concluded with heartfelt sentiments to the troops: "I thank our military for their courage, bravery, and valor. I wish health, happiness, family prosperity, and victory to everyone in the new year!"
These celebrations not only recognize the contributions of young volunteers but also highlight the efforts made by local leaders to support military families during the holiday season, fostering unity and resilience within the Crimea region.
