Community Seeks Justice For Tikquaan Stephenson-Walters

A £20,000 reward is offered for information leading to the capture of his killer

A £20,000 reward has been announced to aid the investigation surrounding the tragic shooting of Tikquaan Stephenson-Walters, who was gunned down on the night of September 4, 2024, on Bravington Road, Kilburn, north west London. At just 28 years old, Tikquaan’s life was brutally cut short when he was shot at close range by an assailant on a white Honda moped, shortly after 11 PM.

Despite the immediate response from emergency services, Tikquaan succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving his family and the wider community devastated. The Metropolitan Police have described the grim incident as one of “wicked violence” occurring on what was initially perceived as a quiet residential street. Since the murder, four arrests have been made related to his case, which have yet to provide answers to the grieving family.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who leads the investigation from the Met's Specialist Crime Command, expressed his commitment to seek justice for Tikquaan, saying, “His family, understandably, remain heartbroken and my team and I remain dedicated to bring to justice whoever was responsible for this wicked violence.” Jolley also highlighted the importance of information from the public, emphasizing the need for witnesses to come forward, especially those who might have seen the suspect before or after the shooting.

According to reports, the moments leading up to Tikquaan’s death involved him exchanging words with the shooter, shortly before he was attacked. Following the shooting, the assailant fled the scene, quickly disappearing on the moped.

Crimestoppers, the charity dedicated to anonymizing tips about crime, has stepped up to offer substantial support to the investigation. Alexa Loukas, the London Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, reiterated the charity’s role, emphasizing, “We know it can be really hard to share information, especially if you’re worried about consequences. Tikquaan was a cherished young man whose life was tragically cut short. His family, friends, and the whole community deserve justice.”

The organization assures complete anonymity to those who report information, meaning they can pass on details without disclosing their identity. Loukas underscored this point, noting, “This means you won’t have to deal with the police, go to court, or give a witness statement.” The reward offer will remain open for three months, set to expire on March 4, 2025, and any potential informants are encouraged to reach out through the dedicated Crimestoppers hotline at 0800 555 111 or via their website.

Engagement from the community is pivotal. Tikquaan’s family has echoed this sentiment, stating, “This heartbreaking tragedy serves as a reminder of the impact of violent crime on families and communities. Your information could be the key to bringing justice for Tikquaan and providing closure to his grieving family, friends, and our community.”

The pain of losing Tikquaan has left a scar on his family and friends, who are left grappling with memories of the vibrant life he led. They describe him as someone whose potential and dreams were snuffed out prematurely, shining light on the broader issue of violence affecting numerous families across the country.

Detective Jolley has reiterated his appeals for anyone who has not yet spoken to police or Crimestoppers to come forward. He noted, “Today marks three months since Tikquaan was fatally shot, and I must reiterate my appeal for anyone who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”

Tikquaan’s life and untimely death now serve as reminders of the pressing issue of gun violence and its severe repercussions among communities.

With the potential for witnesses to help unravel the circumstances surrounding Tikquaan’s shooting, the authorities remain hopeful for updates from the community. The case showcases not only the personal tragedy of losing Tikquaan but also highlights the collaborative efforts of police and community organizations geared toward restoring safety and accountability.

The tragic story of Tikquaan Stephenson-Walters, underscored by the pleas of his family and the police's determination to seek justice, portrays violence not just as statistics but as devastating events impacting real lives. Each tip could help take meaningful steps toward justice, ensuring Tikquaan is remembered not only for the way he died but for the life he led, one filled with promise and love.
