Sabrina Lynn Nolan, aged 27, of Williamsport, illuminated the lives of many until her untimely passing on August 9, 2024. Born on September 4, 1996, she was the cherished daughter of Matthew Nolan and Lisa Palermo.
A proud graduate of Williamsport High School’s class of 2014, Sabrina was not only part of the cheerleading squad but also fueled her love for languages and cultures by pursuing higher education. Her dedication led her to Penn State, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish in 2018.
For six rewarding years, Sabrina shared her passion for the Spanish language as a teacher, most recently at Loyalsock Township Middle and High School. Beyond her classroom duties, she devoted time as the adviser for the Spanish Club and took students on memorable trips, including one to Costa Rica.
Sabrina’s influence stretched far and wide, as she also took on the role of Student Council adviser, helping organize school events like homecoming and winter formal. To expand her skills and serve her community better, she earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Point Park University and several teaching certifications, including English as a Second Language.
Besides her professional achievements, Sabrina reveled in adventures with her family, as well as painting and maintaining her fitness at Planet Fitness. A vibrant personality, her radiant smile was capable of brightening any room she entered.
She was the beloved granddaughter of Anna Mae Nolan and Michael and Gabriella Palermo, all of Williamsport. Sabrina is survived by her parents, her extended family, and countless friends who will always hold her memory dear.
The community is invited to honor Sabrina’s life during visitation on August 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sanders Mortuary on Diamond Street. A private burial will follow, with her family requesting memorial contributions to be directed to the Loyalsock Township High School Spanish Club.

Meanwhile, 75-year-old Linda Zmolek from Garwin, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Private services are planned for her, with burial taking place at Garwin Union Cemetery.
Born on August 13, 1948, Linda was the third child of Edward and Wanda Dewey and grew up in Conrad before moving to Garwin. She forged her bond with Vernon Zmolek during high school, marrying him on October 22, 1966, at St. Boniface Catholic Church.
The couple raised their daughter, Marsha, together, with Linda working for L.E. Myers Electrical Company for 43 years before retiring. Known for her selflessness, she often put the needs of others above her own, delighting family with her cooking, especially her cherry cheesecake during holidays.
She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, daughter Marsha, grandson Steven, and sister Patty along with many cherished relatives. Linda is now reunited with her parents and siblings, who preceded her in death.
Friends and family will gather to honor Linda’s life, reminiscing on the love and joy she brought them.
Mark A. Stahura, aged 30, from New Springfield, passed unexpectedly on August 5, 2024. Born on March 2, 1994, he was the beloved son of James A. Stahura and Kimberly DeGeorge.
A proud Struthers High School graduate, Mark was heavily involved in football throughout his youth. He was also known as an enthusiastic supporter of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
Mark was associated with Christ Our Savior Parish-Holy Trinity Church and later attended Mercy House Church. His kindness and caring nature were evident to everyone who crossed his path.
He is survived by his loving mother Kimberly, his romantic partner Brittnie Slepski and her children, along with his sister Aimee and her family. He was preceded by his father and grandparents who now welcome him back.
Calling hours for Mark will take place at Kirila Funeral Home on August 15, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church the following day. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, honoring his memory.
Finally, on August 9, 2024, we reflect on the life of Christopher “Kit” Anderson, who departed this world aged 49 after battling cancer. Born April 18, 1975, Kit was known as a devoted husband, father, and curious soul from Pittsburgh, PA.
After moving to Weirton, WV, Kit graduated from Brooke High School and went on to earn his mechanical engineering degree from Brown University. Choosing to boldly embrace life, he ventured to Germany to learn the language and broaden his horizons.
Upon returning to the States, Kit became involved in community building and law, showcasing his diverse talents through various roles including Public Works Director and positions within the healthcare field. His dedication to education extended to his children, whom he homeschooled and guided through numerous learning experiences.
A passionate traveler, raconteur, and sports enthusiast, Kit inspired those around him with his engaging stories and humor. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, children William and Sally, along with extended family who carry forward his spirit.
Visitation services for Kit will take place at First Presbyterian Church on August 14, complemented by a memorial service the following day. The family kindly asks for donations to support Hospice of Huntington or Houston Haven, continuing Kit's legacy of compassion and community engagement.
