Recent months have seen several poignant passings, prompting memorial gatherings across various communities. One of those mourned is Margaret (Peig) Munnelly, who passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at St. Gerard’s House, Adare, surrounded by her family during her last moments.
Munnelly, formerly of Clounanna, Patrickswell, Co. Limerick, is survived by her loving family, including son Barry and daughter Jacqueline Rogers along with their respective partners and children. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joe, and brother Michael. The family described her as being deeply missed, and have requested privacy during their mourning period.
Her funeral arrangements include reposing at the Church Of The Blessed Virgin, Patrickswell, on February 25 from 5:30 PM, followed by evening prayers at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for the following morning, February 26, at 11:30 AM, where she will be laid to rest at St. Nicholas’ Cemetery, Adare. The family has requested flowers be omitted, instead encouraging donations to Milford Care Centre.
Across the Atlantic, another memorial service is set for Dorothy Mae Pavloff, who passed away earlier this month. The memorial will be held at the Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home located at 915 Kennedy Ave, Duquesne, PA, on February 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to share their heartfelt memories, condolences, and stories on her memorial page.
Circumstances surrounding the death of Bernard Dunford have also drawn public interest. An inquiry held by area coroner Deborah Archer at Exeter County Hall revealed unsettling details about the 67-year-old man's passing on February 3, 2025. A local funeral director, responding to what appeared to be an email sent by Dunford, arrived to find the home silent, curtains drawn, and no response at the door.
Upon entering the property, the dire discovery was made: Dunford was found slumped deceased in his armchair. The hearing stated the precise medical cause of death has yet to be determined. This incident raises questions about communication and responses surrounding unexpected deaths, leading to the necessity of a full inquiry, which awaits scheduling.
These recent incidents remind us of the fragility of life and the importance of community support during difficult times. From Munnelly’s peaceful farewell surrounded by loved ones to the pending truths of Dunford's untimely passing, society grieves together, honoring the memories of those who have left us and recognizing the impact they had on the lives they touched.
