Community Mourns Passing Of Lech Tyrakowski And Father Lech Otta

Both men significantly impacted their community, leaving behind legacies of service and love.

Lech Tyrakowski and Father Lech Otta, two cherished figures within their community, have recently passed away, leaving behind legacies of dedication and service.

Lech Tyrakowski, who died on December 27, 2024, at the age of 78, will be honored at a funeral mass scheduled for December 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM. This mass will take place at the parish church in Ociąż, followed by burial at the local cemetery. Tyrakowski is remembered fondly by his family, especially by his sisters and their families, highlighting the deep familial bonds and the shared grief of losing such a beloved member.

Father Lech Otta, who is noted for his extensive community involvement, also died recently. He had been well-respected and liked during his time serving the community of Środa. Active from 1986 until 2003, Otta contributed significantly to local initiatives, including the establishment of the Anonymous Alcoholics Association and the organization of social therapy centers. His efforts extended to promoting safe driving among local motorists, even patrolling roads with police officers and distributing images of St. Christopher to encourage safer practices on the road.

Having been recognized multiple times as the "Średzianin of the Year," Father Otta devoted his life to serving God and his community, becoming the chaplain for various institutions, including law enforcement and hospitals. Despite his transfer to Śrem in 2003, he maintained ties with his former parish and returned regularly to reconnect with the community he loved.

Otta passed away at the hospital in Śrem, leaving behind his many contributions to the local area. His funeral took place at the local church, starting at 11:00 AM on the day of his passing, with the emotional service culminating with his interment at the parish cemetery. The narrative surrounding Father Otta was deeply intertwined with community admiration, as he had made lasting impacts throughout his ministry.

Both men are mourned as pillars of their community, embodying the values of love, dedication, and service. The upcoming mass and their memorial ceremonies serve not only as farewells but as celebrations of lives well-lived, reminding all of us of the importance of community spirit and support.
