Community Leaders Spread New Year's Cheer Across Regions

From heartfelt messages to festive visits, organizations celebrate the New Year with goodwill and hope.

Various organizations and community leaders across Russia took the opportunity to share warm New Year's greetings as the clock ticked toward 2025. Notably, Dmitry Kaimachnikov, the Head of the Volgodonsk Search and Rescue Service, addressed residents with heartfelt wishes just before the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve.

Less than eight hours before the momentous occasion, Kaimachnikov urged Volgodonsk citizens to embrace the spirit of the season, wishing them "good health, stability, and well-being, fulfilling your cherished desires." He also took the time to remind everyone about the regional ban on the use of firecrackers and fireworks, emphasizing safety during the celebrations. "Let there be fewer incidents next year so we have less work," he concluded his New Year’s address.

Community leaders like Irina Yudina and Georgiy Kovalevskiy also shared their festive greetings with the public, echoing themes of unity and hope for the upcoming year. Their messages reinforced the sense of community, urging everyone to come together and celebrate the joys of the season.

Meanwhile, the Zolsky District saw significant seasonal cheer delivered by local police and community leaders. Under the initiative titled "Police Santa Claus," Felix Balov, the Officer of Juvenile Affairs, along with Shafik Urusmamebetov, the Chairman of the Public Council, visited families to bring holiday joy. They reached out to thirty-eight households, including those of children who lost their parents and those facing tough situations. The children welcomed the surprise guests with recitations and carols, and every child received sweet gifts from the Policeman Santa, who shared festive joy alongside his colleagues.

Another touching story emerged from Krasnoyarsk Krai, where officers from the Investigative Committee of Russia, accompanied by members of the military, visited 101-year-old World War II veteran Nikolai Grigoryev. This visit was part of the nationwide campaign titled "With A Kind Year!" which aimed to connect generations and honor heroic legacies during the holiday season.

Nikolai, who served valiantly during the war, spoke about his experiences and the importance of courage. He remarked, "A battle must always be brave, defending your homeland, and if necessary, give your life for your fathers and mothers." His words served as both counsel and inspiration to younger generations of defenders.

Dmitry Bobrov, Deputy Head of Uyar Interdistrict Investigative Department, expressed gratitude to Grigoryev for his bravery, resilience, and significant role in achieving victory for their country. "Thank you for your courage, resilience, and personal contribution to our Great Victory," he stated, acknowledging the sacrifices made by those who fought for their homeland.

While individuals like Kaimachnikov, Balov, and Bobrov led significant efforts to spread cheer and goodwill, another initiative focused on aiding the most vulnerable. Local blood donation drives saw remarkable participation, with volunteers contributing over 90 liters of blood during New Year's campaigns. The blood drive, which welcomed participants from cities like Rostov and Shakhty, featured festive elements, including visits from ‘Santa Claus’, who offered gifts to donors. Numerous first-time donors joined experienced contributors, showcasing the community's spirit and dedication to helping others as they welcomed the New Year.

Sergey Glushkov was recognized during this event as well, having earned the title of "Honored Donor of Russia" for his continuous contributions, marking his 48th donation. Organized annually for the past decade, this New Year’s donation campaign has been instrumental not only for blood supply but also for encouraging community spirit.

The success of these various initiatives speaks volumes about the mutual support among community members as they step forward together to celebrate the New Year. Festivities across the regions reflect on the importance of compassion, gratitude, and community collaboration—elements foundational to building strong neighborhoods.

With the dawn of 2025 brightening the horizon, the collective spirit of hope, resilience, and harmony is palpable among those extending their warm wishes for happiness and prosperity this New Year. The actions of leaders and citizens alike underline the real meaning behind holiday greetings—coming together, taking care of one another, and wishing for peace and goodwill for all.
