Community In Shock After Triple Murder In Weitefeld

Authorities urgently seek Alexander Meisner, suspect in family killings

A triple murder has sent shockwaves through the small town of Weitefeld in the Westerwald region of Germany, as authorities search for the suspect, 61-year-old Alexander Meisner. The Koblenz public prosecutor's office announced on April 7, 2025, that Meisner is under urgent suspicion for the brutal killings of a family of three.

On the morning of Sunday, April 6, around 3:45 AM, police received a frantic emergency call from Nadine S., a 44-year-old woman who was later found dead at the scene along with her husband, 47-year-old Kai, and their 16-year-old son, Kilian. Officers arrived to discover a horrific scene, with the three victims showing signs of violent assault.

According to police reports, both firearms and stabbing weapons were used in the attack, and the victims were found partially bound with cable ties. As the police approached the residence, they observed a person fleeing the scene. This individual, now identified as Meisner, is believed to have escaped through a window, with blood traces found on a windowsill and a motorcycle helmet located outside the house.

Meisner is described as being approximately 1.74 meters tall, weighing 74 kilograms, with brown hair and blue-gray eyes. He has distinctive scars on his right upper arm, eyebrow, and left forearm, and a tattoo reading "Katja" in Russian on the back of his left hand. The authorities have issued an arrest warrant for him on suspicion of triple murder, and extensive searches are underway to locate him.

The police are treating Meisner as a potentially armed and violent fugitive. However, they have assured the public that there are currently no specific threats to uninvolved individuals. The community, which has a population of around 2,200, is in a state of shock as the investigation unfolds.

Local officials, including Weitefeld's mayor, Karl-Heinz Keßler, expressed the community's distress. "The mood is certainly very subdued," he stated. "People feel empathy for the victims, but there's also a sense of insecurity. Parents have been given the option to keep their children home from school or daycare, and understandably so, given the circumstances."

As the investigation continues, the police have appealed to the public for any information regarding Meisner's whereabouts. They have set up a hotline at 0261-103-50399 for tips. The urgency of the situation has led to a large contingent of officers being deployed to search for the suspect.

Authorities are also conducting forensic analyses of the crime scene to gather more evidence. The autopsies of the victims have been ordered, but results are pending. Investigators are still working to determine the motive behind this tragic incident, with initial assumptions suggesting a possible familial context, though this has yet to be confirmed.

As the days pass, the community remains on edge, grappling with the aftermath of this brutal act. The police's ongoing search for Alexander Meisner highlights the severity of the situation, and the hope is that he will be apprehended swiftly to restore a sense of safety to the residents of Weitefeld.

The tragic loss of Nadine, Kai, and Kilian serves as a grim reminder of the unpredictable nature of violence and the profound impact such events have on small communities. As investigations proceed, the focus remains on seeking justice for the victims and ensuring the safety of the public as the manhunt for the suspect intensifies.
